Basecamp Wales offers family-run hostel accommodation in Llanllyfni, on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and 30.3 km from Pen-Y-Pass and 8.2 km to the beach at Dinas Dinlle. Lovely countryside location. Bus connections within 10-15 min walk taking you all over Snowdonia and beyond. Views of Snowdon directly outside the window Really nice people who own and run the hostel. Whole place feels very clean!

Situated in Betws-y-coed, 20 km from Snowdon, Woodlands Centre features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Amazing location close to restaurants and beautiful walks close by. The buses to Snowdonia are within a 5 minute walk of the hostel as well which was great! The common areas were spacious, a large kitchen to use, showers had hot water and the beds were wooden so there was no squeaking. The staff were lovely and gave us advice for our trip - would stay here again next time we’re back!

Situated in a converted school house, Lodge Dinorwig is located in Dinorwig, 8 km from Snowdon. Free private parking is available on site. Sonni and Simon are the most amazing, gracious hosts. They answered every question we had about nearby hikes and the home cooked breakfast every morning was so delicious!! Coming home after a hike to a delicious home cooked meal was the best feeling. One night when the weather was nice Simon even went out of his way to bring our dinner down to where we were sitting watching the sunset so we could enjoy an outdoor feast 😄 The hostel has such a homely feeling where you get to know everyone. I would recommend it to every person wanting to explore Snowdonia!

Located in Caernarfon and within 13 km of Snowdon Mountain Railway, Totters Hostel features a shared lounge, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi. The owner met us and welcomed us warmly. Our room was very comfortable. The shared bathroom was clean and functioned well. The dining and living areas were well-kept. The basement dining room is really lovely - ancient and rare. Continental breakfast with multiple options. Location was exceptional. Plenty of public street parking and paid parking nearby. We found a free spot to use overnight. If we had needed to pay, it was minimal. I highly recommend this hostel.

Llangollen Hostel Self-catering is a 4-star, Victorian town house in the centre of Llangollen. Llangollen Hostel = standout quality. Delivers well beyond what they charge for their rooms. Which work well for families or individuals. The workers I dealt with, or saw dealing with other lodgers, were attentive and responsive. There's an excellent energy to the crew. At least one member speaks Welsh too! Which was fun for me, a Welsh-language learner. The establishment itself's conveniently located in a lovely town. Bed was good, room was quiet; I slept well. Definitely get a top-floor room if you can: the view!

Set in Betws-y-coed, 22 km from Snowdon, FSC Rhyd-y-Creuau Hostel offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge. Location, lovely staff, delicious breakfasts, free access to most of the building (lounge, game room, library), bonfire area. Mattress was quite hard but that's what we like and we slept like a babies
