Cunnamulla is surprisingly charming for a little outback town. It's unfortunate the top tourist attraction, "All Aboard: Cunnamulla Off the Rails" is closing down, or perhaps has already. (I was fortunate to see one of the last performances of it.) It alone is worth the trip to this remote spot, if you like travelling. Even without it though, it's worth the long journey to see this town.

Cunnamulla is a small country town.

Cunnamulla is a small country town. It used to be more busy than it is now, as a lot of the properties have been bought out by larger companies, with associated decline of permanent population. There are a couple of pubs, a bowlo, an IGA, a couple of cafes and an information centre (which closed half an hour earlier than advertised, so we missed that, along with the displays they had inside).

Cunnamulla is a small quiet little country town.

Cunnamulla is a small quiet little country town. Worth a stay if only to check out the Club Boutique Hotel. What a treat. An old historic pub but great accommodation, clean and modern bathrooms, friendly staff and great meals.

The tourist information centre and its accompanying experiences was excellent. As a retired couple, with limited mobility, it was good that most things were within walking distance. It could have been more enjoyable if we had had a car, as we had to miss out on a couple of interesting landmarks. Would suggest that visitors drive to Cunnamulla rather than rely on the coach service provided by Qld. rail.

Great aircon kept the room warm on freezing 2 degree C night! Having own shower and toilet even if old and stained. But it is a very old hotel with a cheap rate so to be expected. Great food in the restaurant, which had a lovely open fireplace. Central position. Close to the excellent visitor centre., A large fridge near the tearoom was kindly made available for contents of our cooler bag.

The room was lovely and modern and the bed was really comfy. The owner was good value and the meals at the same hotel were amazing considering the remoteness of the town. Add some live music to the mix and it makes for a great place to eat and stay. We also recommend checking out the show up at the railway station.

Cheap accommodation most suitable for a 1 night stay. The owners were super friendly. The dining room offered a great menu and the food was excellent. Our hotel room was very clean. After dinner we had a drink in the public bar and got to chat with some of the locals which we found a great experience.

Quirky hotel with lots of character. Staff couldn’t do enough - even arranging to have forgotten item delivered to next town 200ks away after we’d left. Great food - very good value. Pretty garden full of flowers.

We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was exceptional. The new owners had taken over the motel three days prior to our stay. They were still finding their feet but they were really lovely people.
