Guilin's food and accommodation are really cheap in terms of it's a tourist city.
Nice city to spend few days in.
Compare to Yangshuo and Xingping Gu Zhen, Guilin is much clamer, less commercial.

桂林山水甲天下、人为保护意识差。酒店民宿管理亟待加强。
桂林山水甲天下、人为保护意识差。酒店民宿管理亟待加强。临江有闲别院酒店的住宿体验如下:This hotel specializes in scamming and mistreating unsuspecting foreigners. I was placed in a room with over 60 mosquitoes and recorded video footage. Although the staff changed my room, the 2nd room also had over 60 mosquitoes. They take care of mosquitoes better than they take care of guests. The staff then just gave me an electric fly swatter and told me to "deal with it". The TV was also broken. I asked the staff about it and they claimed I "didn't know how to turn it on and was operating it wrong". Even though I kindly asked them to show me how to turn it on, they were absolutely disrespectful in their refusal. I have photo and video footage of not only mosquitoes and flies. Horrific experience, avoid this place at all costs.

Guilin is a magical city, with beautiful views everywhere.
Guilin is a magical city, with beautiful views everywhere. The Prince's Palace is slightly older than the Forbidden City in Beijing and has many parts to explore. The climb to the top of the Solitary Beauty Peak at the back of Jingjiang Prince’s Palace at sunset is stunning. Karst scenery is the backdrop to a diverse and decorated skyline. Once darkness arrives, the city comes alive with lights everywhere. Glowing Bridges, boats, islands, ancient relics and the iconic Sun and Moon Temples towering over the water create a carnival for the eyes. Musicians and dancers fill the air and their joyous parades spill out along the walkways. The waterways ring the city and there are boat cruises. The boulevards downtown have wide sidewalks and are tree lined, which makes for pleasant strolling. There are something like 7 different bridges all with different scenic views of the waterways that were once part of the defense system for the ancient rulers. Guilin has been a poplular tourist destination for years, so there are a fair amount of English speakers and hip coffee houses and restaurants. It is also a jumping off point for tours to the Longji Rice Terraces, Ancient Villages and Li River cruises. All in all, we wished we had more allowed more time in Guilin as the people are charming and there were more museums and parks to explore.

Guilin is a very colourful city, especially at night.
Guilin is a very colourful city, especially at night. The markets have handmade items to buy, lots of sweet mandarins and kumquats as well. The city Centre has a selection of quaint Chinese Restaurants and western bars. Many of the locals speak very good English which makes communication easier. A truly delightful place to visit with many interesting places to explore just outside the city.

Guilin is a very nice place for relaxation, people are very kind and as a small city, all activities are within walking distance. If you want to see the real beauty of Guilin, it's better to go to Xinping where you can enjoy the old town, nice mountains (drawn on 20 Yuan banknote), and river cruise. Also, you can go to the elephant trunk park (make it around the afternoon). Impression light show in Yangshou is not as expected. so you may escape it. Reed flute cave is nice medium-size one, if you have been to another one, you may escape it. All in all, it's worth to visit the city and enjoy nature. Don't forget to install Didi taxi service. It's available in English.

Guilin taxi drivers understand marketing and customer...
Guilin taxi drivers understand marketing and customer service and my Goo Hotel was efficient, but l have passed thru Guilin many times only to find the city beautiful but people in general not really very friendly.... especially if you don't speak Chinese. It is pretty clear that all the people want is your money. l have lived in Zhuhai for 18 years and avoid Guilin other than just passing through on my way to Yangshuo...or Longji Titian. LM sorry.
Special thanks to Alyssa and Jenny, thanks for helping us. I highly appreciated and many thanks for both of you. Hotel services and location is the best. The staffs are truly friendly, helpful and fast response. Even we can't speak Mandarin, they can accomodate us with great services. They offered airport pick up and hotel pick up, free laundry service, free dessert every night. Hotel location is near to the tourist attractions, restaurants, and shopping area. My family and I will return to stay here when we come back to Guilin.
Location is perfect next to Guilin railway station and bus station. Facilities are good, beds are big and comfy, rooms are spacious and clean.
Staff is really good and helpful. They helped us book our train by writing our destinations in Chinese so it was much more easier at the train counter. The can also recommend you with good places to eat nearby. They kept our luggages a few days too while traveling.
The hotel is beautifully decorated, the room was super clean and tidy. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room where you have breakfast is great, with a great view, and the breakfast itself was really good, with plenty of choices. The location of the hotel is great, as well, only a short walk to some of the attractions in the city. Truly one of the best hotels I've ever been in.
The view was very peaceful. And the room super lovely with a bath on the balcony. Beds comfy and shower lush. David the owner was extremely helpful and went out of his way to help us. His staff were amazing too. One of them walked me to the wine store for a nice bottle of white and also went to buy ice. We saw many hotels in guilin, and none came close to the quaint atmosphere of this gem!
The hotel was super clean and well maintained. I was pleasantly surprised by the facilities and the decor. It was true to the pictures online. It was along the river and had a great view. The staff didn’t speak English, but it wasn’t a problem as long as you have a translation app. They were really nice and tried to accommodate as much as possible.
Good location within walking distance of Elephant Trunk Park and Seven Star Park. Very helpful staff that even recommended the transport to take on my next journey and even walked me to a nearby restaurant to have Guilin rice noodles. The staffs at the hostel even invited me to join for food and drinks, very friendly.
It’s a rather standard hotel, welcoming big groups. The room was fine, without special interest.
The swimming pool is very deep and nice, but absolutely no shade, except few umbrellas.
Breakfast was ok.
We were having a late check out, which was very nice because of late departure of our plane
Truly a 10/10 hotel.
The rooms are as described and perfectly functional, clean and quiet.
The staff is super nice and helpful, even supported me in contacting my tour guide and made sure inward all set.
The breakfast is such a highlight and feels so special.
Lovely and clean accomodation. Very kind staff! they helped me with the booking of several tours during my stay in Guilin .
Good location. The nearest bus station is 3 minutes from Junshue hotel. Guilin railway station around 15 minutes by car.
We needed a place to crash that was close to Guilin North train station. This hotel was walking distance from the train station and the staff were very friendly. The room was simple but comfortable. It completely met our needs.
Lovely room with a comfortable bed (I am used to very hard beds when travelling around Asia). Excellent location in the centre of Guilin, right next to a market street and lots of restaurants/shops. A free laundry room too!
Good view, nice interior and bathroom and conveniently close to the airport! The two pagodas are about 30 minutes from the hotel by car. There is a nice park near the hotel and a mall where you can grab some McDonald's.
Hotel's located near the bus station, so it is very easy to get to famous tourist destinations. Moutain view room is very beautiful, surrounding scenery also beautiful. Hotel staff can speak English pretty well.♥️♥️
Our stay here was fantastic. The staff were very welcoming and helpful! They did a very cheap breakfast, which was great! Walking distance to the main part of Guilin. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
This was a late night, last minute booking and the hotel delivered. The receptionist was very kind and helpful. Restaurants and the train station nearby (main train station, NOT west or North stations).
The room was nicely decorated, comfortable and clean. The staff were super friendly! We never expect staff to speak English in smaller hotels, but their English at Zen Tea House was great!
Beatiful hotel reach with chinese art, and great view from the dining area at the top fifth floor. Very knowledgeable and helpful stuff. Large and comfi rooms and beds. Very good breakfast.
Xiao Ming was extremely kind, friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was served on time and it was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel!
