Van is a charming city located in the eastern part of Turkey and is in close proximity to the Iranian border. It serves as a popular destination for many people who travel from Iran by car for short holidays and shopping trips. What makes Van especially appealing is the availability of numerous Turkish franchise brands, allowing visitors to enjoy reliable and affordable shopping experiences, often at lower prices compared to Istanbul. Additionally, the city boasts a wide range of excellent restaurants and delicious cuisine, surpassing the quality and affordability of many establishments in Istanbul. I highly recommend Van to anyone seeking an affordable and enjoyable travel experience in Turkey.

Van is a small city with big potential to grow as it has been grown in recent years.despite the presence of many police officers(which is called çevik kuvvet) ,the city is calm and people are friendly.i think 3-4 days would be enough to visit the museum, castle, lake, beach or even shopping

We liked Van because it is not a tourist destination for Europeans and is an ordinary, bustling Turkish city. The people in Van are very friendly and were always starting up conversations despite the limited English language skills. The food is excellent and the fruit and veg available in the markets is fresh and great quality. The lake and surrounding countryside is quite stunning and there are some very interesting places to visit.
The room and bathroom are clean, light and very spacious. The hotel is in a central location close to shops, restaurants, etc. Breakfast comes in buffet style and there were plenty of options to choose from. The staff and owner are very friendly and English is spoken in this hotel. Water and tea are offered 24/7 at the reception area and they are happy to help you with booking tours to the sightseeing spots in Van and surroundings.
The staff were super friendly and many of them spoke English. Best location ever...not far from the airport, right next to the lake, close to places for sightseeing. Breakfast was fantastic, so many things to choose from, and so relaxing eating it on the verandah overlooking the lake. We chose a room with a lake view and it was totally worth it. The sunsets over the lake were glorious. This hotel is a real gem and such good value.
My family and I stayed at this hotel 1 night and then we flight to Stanbul and 7 days later we were back to van and stay at Elite world Hotel . We was so comfortable in king suite, every thing was clean and comfort and luxury. Breakfast was delicious and diversely. Pool and torkish bath was clean and perfect. If we will come to van we will back here because it was really five star hotel
The hotel placed in a great location, near the Jomhuriet St. Which consider as the most popular part of the city.
Staff were friendly and helpful, however could not speak English.
The room was spacious enough to be comfortable.
Breakfast was kind of basic and enough. In the high season you might have to wait to find a empty table as the saloon is small.
Amazing host. This is a great area of turkey which is very underrated getting by with just English isn’t easy but the host was kind enough to also act as my translator and get me on to the right minibus etc. the room is very clean and spacious and furnished like a local home with washing machine and all the amenities. The photos don’t do it justice.
I was not satisfied with the room. It was not definitely a 5 star hotel quality. The sofas and carpets had stains all over, towels were very old and bed wasn’t done properly it only had bad sheet nothing to put over us.
Other than the hotel. Van is a beautiful city in east of Turkey to see with its nature and history
The apartment was lovely and big. It had everything we needed and good to be able to spread out for a change. Great to have a washing machine and parking. Easy walk to the bazaar. Easy drive to the Van Castle and Old Van. Suat was responsive and very helpful. Google translate came in handy.
The manager was very friendly and helpful. He organised for us to join an Iranian tour of the upside down house, Akdamar Island and the Van Cat House at a really good price. He also helped to organise our bus tickets up to Dogubayazit.
