Hotel is situated several miles from Hofn. Although on main road, it was a quiet location. Plenty of parking available. Breakfast was the usual buffet selection with a wide range of choice.

Everything was amazing! We loved the hotel, the atmosphere, the staff! The hotel is located very close to Höfn. But since it is outside of the town, there are no lights around at night which means higher chances to see the northern lights! We stayed there early April and we weren't very hopeful to see the northern lights but thanks to the owner of the hotel who went to every door at the hotel and let everybody know when the northern lights were visible, we saw it! She is just an amazing person and we are thankful for her. She also gave us great advice for our roadtrip and she sure was right, you have to listen to the locals' advice when it comes to which road to take in Iceland.
Anyways, the breakfast was very nice, our room was very cosy and spacious. You can park right outside of the door of your room. We couldn't ask for a better place for the price.
Featuring views of Europe’s largest glacier, Vatnajökull, Fosshotel Vatnajokull offers heated rooms with satellite TV and private bathrooms with shower. Hofn Airport is 5 km away.
Located 4 km off Route 1, this family-run guesthouse is 25 minutes’ drive from Höfn. Set on a sheep farm, it provides simple, fresh rooms, a home-cooked breakfast and a dinner buffet with lamb.

Amazing views of the mountains, clean and lots of room, the bed was soooo comfy! Love the communal area also.
International travellers can fly into Keflavík International Airport, then take a domestic flight to Höfn Airport (approx. 5 hours). Alternatively, drive from Reykjavik to Höfn (approx. 450km, 5-6 hours). Domestic travellers can fly or drive from Reykjavik. No direct water transport available.
The most convenient airport for both domestic and international travellers is Reykjavik Airport, due to its frequent flights and services. It's approximately 450km from Höfn.
Höfn, a small Icelandic town, lacks a public transport system. However, it's easily navigable on foot or by bicycle due to its compact size. Car rentals are available for longer distances. Always check local weather conditions before setting out, as they can change rapidly.
The best area to stay in Höfn, Iceland is the town centre. It offers convenient access to local attractions like the Vatnajökull glacier, restaurants, and shops. It's also close to the harbour, providing stunning views and opportunities for boat tours.

Very quaint and QUIET seaport town.
Very quaint and QUIET seaport town. A lot of the restaurants and bars were closed during my stay but was able to go to 1 of them which was lovely. It's a very far east part of Iceland I recommend going to, even if it is for 1 night.

Gem! This was worth the extra drive to visit. Honestly it was my favorite part of Iceland. Rugged beauty without the long line of tourist buses to contend with. Stokksnes Beach is a hidden gem at sunrise!

The Berjaya in Höfn is in a wonderful position with the harbour on one side and a view out across the water to the glaciers and the west on the other. It is also easy walking distance to all the local bars and restaurants.

Hofn is a lovely town in SE Iceland.
Hofn is a lovely town in SE Iceland. It has numerous, easy walking paths thru town and around their waterfront including a golf course with views that I think rival those of the finest courses in the world. Not a golfer, but if I were, this is a place I would want to play. It was spectacular. The views of the glacier were outstanding. There were several good restaurants, lobster is a local specialty. There are nature and art trails along the waterfront and a number of good historical exhibits. Wished we could have spent more time here. It felt like a vibrant, fully functioning community that I would have liked to explore more.

it was one of the most expensive stay on our 12 days trips.
it was one of the most expensive stay on our 12 days trips. The room did not match the pricing.
There were not microwave nor toaster nor any other means to warm up any food. Only one working chair in the room.
It was clean, but not worth the price.

Unlike tourist traps in the USA, Hofn is a marine village built to accommodate itself throughout the seasons. It's a place to relax, take in the fresh air, and chill. Its natural beauty is more than enough.
Its in good location, right next to the petrol station and tiny shop. Bathroom was nice. Room was clean and had a kettle with some tea/coffee/sugar. It was one of the cheapest places we found in entire Iceland, and Hofn is well known for being super expensive, so its decent for Icelandic prices. Normally I would rate this place lower but it is a budget-friendly accommodation so you can't expect 5* treatment. If you want just a place to stay for a night and leave straight away, I think you'll be happy
Located on a farm in southern Iceland, Guesthouse Nypugardar was a wonderful place to stop while driving the ring road. The hosts were very nice and the food was fantastic. We had dinner just after we arrived and breakfast the next morning. It was some of the best food we had in Iceland. There are some amazing views from the property of the surrounding farms and the glacier capped mountains. It was located away from the highway so it was very quiet. We would definitely return.
The hotel is very well located for any road trip in the South of the country or if you drive via the Ring road. Next to all points of interest nearby: Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, Hofn etc.
The room we booked was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, lovely staff, the hotel is very spacious in the middle of nature with mountain and field views and had also nice facilities. We recommend it more than 100% and will definitely book there again if we come back to South Iceland.
Overall room was comfy and met our needs for a 1 night stay, small family of 3 (kid is 4). Tv worked well and had a mix of channels for the night and the location was nice and easy access to local stores in the small town.
We paid for the breakfast which was standard summer buffet so a little costly on top of the room price but normal for most of the places in Iceland, especially during tourist season - cost was about 22$USD pp although kids were free.
Seljavellir Guesthouse in Höfn, Iceland, exceeded all our expectations! The guesthouse itself is beautifully designed, with cozy and comfortable rooms that make you feel right at home. The stunning views of the surrounding mountains and coastline added to the charm of our stay. The location is perfect for those wanting to experience the beauty of Höfn and its surroundings. We highly recommend Seljavellir Guesthouse to anyone visiting Höfn, Iceland!
We ended our month in Iceland at this apartment in western Reykjavik. Parking was easy on the street. The apartment was quite large which was perfect for doing our final repack after 4 1/2 months of travel. Kitchen was well appointed. Nice to have a washer so our clothes were clean going home. The apartment was very clean. Bathroom was a good size with steady hot water and good water pressure.
The place is cozy, clean, and in walking distance from everywhere! Fun to see the harbor from our window too! We recommend Viking Cafe for breakfast and Z Bistro had THE BEST LOBSTER EVER! There’s a full kitchen for anyone eating in. These are the best shared bathrooms (and honestly better than our private bathroom at one stay) in all of Iceland!
If you are looking for a heartly warmed stay, you should stay at Dynjandi. We slept there during our honeymoon Icelandic trip. It is situated less than 10 minutes from Höfn by car. The host is super kind and at your complete disposal for everything, from drying your wet clothes to funny and useful tips for your journey. Extremely recommended!
One of the best accommodations during our 2 week tour across Iceland. Everything about this cabin was well thought out by the owner. The location has a great view and there are a few benches in choice locations on the property to sit, relax and take it all in. Would love to stay here again in the future!
One of the best cottages I’ve been to in Iceland.
The place was tidy and cozy.
The staff were friendly and the food was to die for! Poka is an amazing host and cook 👩🍳
if you are going to visit Vestrahorn, Stokkness and Höfn this is your place ! ☺️☺️☺️
Out of the way location, but gorgeous scenery. A stay here includes one of the best breakfasts we had in Iceland. Also included is a visit to the Viking village prop set and around an old army base with huge crashing waves and incredible mountain views!
Hotel with older equipment, but everything clean. Great location if you're doing the Iceland circuit. There is a small town nearby with restaurants, shops and a petrol station. Great choice for breakfast. Kettle, coffee and tea are available in the room.
Clean hotel. Breakfast was good standard Iceland fare: eggs, yogurt, bread, fruit, meats...ect. pretty setting with trees. Very rural with not much around, but we only stayed one night and didn't get a chance to find anywhere to eat nearby or do much.
Good stop off location on ring road tour. Clean and simple hotel - value for money in Iceland. Free 24/7 tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast decent for price.
Inga was a terrific host and shared a great deal of information about Iceland and the farm with us. The rooms were great and the breakfast was excellent.
