Við Lónið Guesthouse, hotel in Seyðisfjörður

Set in a characteristic wooden house, Við Lónið Guesthouse is an accommodation in Seyðisfjörður.

Clean, comfortable room with a beautiful and unique view of the fjord! The room was very cosy. We stayed here 3 days due to bad weather which prevented us from leaving (our booking was for one night only) and Maggy was lovely with us!!! Every day she came by to ask if we needed anything and provided us with coffee and chocolate. She kept us updated on the road situation and gave us advice on where to eat and what to do. I highly recommend everyone to stay are here!!! Thanks again Maggy!!!

10+ for the apartment: huge, very well equipped, in a great location - the center of the beautiful town of Seyðisfjörður. A bit old fashioned but that only added to the charm of the place.

Picturesque small fishing village and cultural arts center with great restaurants, hiking, and boat tours. Very walkable. A must visit, if you're in the East! Bring your camera, the photo ops are endless!

This town is a bit over rated in my opinion.

This town is a bit over rated in my opinion. There is almost nothing there. The setting is nice, but we stayed in a town called Siglufjordur up north is much prettier and had a lot more to offer, so I would skip this one and head up there.

This is a great place to stay for a couple of days.

This is a great place to stay for a couple of days. The town is small but charming, and there a multiple day hikes close by. If you are doing the ring road, this might be a nice spot for two nights to rest up a bit. You might catch a glimpse of the Faroe Islands/Denmark Ferry that comes in once a week. Breakfast options are limited, however there is a little bakery in the supermarket that has wonderful fresh baked bread and goods.

This is a pleasant town in a strikingly beautiful location...

This is a pleasant town in a strikingly beautiful location between mountains and a fjord. Apart from the surrounding beauty, the town is tranquil (out of season) and very walkable. We understand that things heat up during the summer season. There are a handful of restaurants and a well-stocked supermarket. During working hours the town suffers from strong fishy odors coming from the local fish processing factory. In short, it is a must-see stop on any tour of Iceland.

Seydisfjordur was a picture perfect village.

Seydisfjordur was a picture perfect village. We ate at two of the restaurants and the food was delicious. We enjoyed a local hike. And being fans of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" we enjoyed seeing the filming locations in this town.

A small town of the beaten path that is just lovely.

A small town of the beaten path that is just lovely. Our only problem is that we didn't have enough time to explore the town and surrounding area. We would have added a second night if we had the chance to do it again.

Very good kitchen- possibly the best so far on our trip around the circle road of Iceland. It was a very busy kitchen but very well set out to cope with many people. Check in was easy and the prior instructions to reach the guesthouse very good! Did not use the sauna but loved that it was available. Even had a laundry with washer and dryer and airer in the basement at a reasonable cost. Loved the old building and some of the quirky old furniture.

The location is definitely superior. The view from our room was so gorgeous and romantic. On top of that, the hotel itself was made with a rustic, old-fashioned design reminiscent of old time hotels. We also watched Secret Life of Walter Mitty the next day so we could see our Hotel on the big screen. (The Post Office specifically is in the shot for Seydisfjordur and it's so cool to see!!)

Great hotel directly to the rainbow street and beautiful church. Seydisfjödur byitself very quite village, maybe in March because of not all opened infrastructure not completely ideal. But must be really really beautiful from spring - autumn. If you stay just a short time, take small suitcases, small stairs to first floor. But very romantic beautiful room!

Property is in a great location, probally the best in the area if it was my opinion! The room was super clean and cute. Details were added that made it that much more comfortable and over the top like the coffee station! Most importantly , the host was super nice and checked in on us which we have yet to see in our whole ten days in Iceland.

The beautiful location, the place of the house opposite to the nice little village Seydisfjördur. The view is absolutely outstanding.Check-in was easy. Good living room size and great amenities. Hot tub with lovely view is the best! This is perhaps the best stay during the 8 night and 6 different Apartment/hotel/Cottages in Iceland!

Tungata is a faboulous place. It's really spacious and comfy, rooms are big and beautiful. The kitchen is large and well furnished (stove, oven, microwave, kettle, dishwasher...). The owner is super helpful and the location is amazing: close to all town shops/restaurants, with a view on the mountains.

Located at the amazing Seydisfjordur, this place was a pleasant surprise. We were able to self check-in late at night, which is something to consider when booking a place in Iceland. You can easily loose track of time in there. The place had a kitchen in the common area so you can prepare your meals.

Make sure you check in where it says "Reception" as you drive into town. This hotel has several buildings for the actual rooms, so don't go to the buildings until you check in. We enjoyed our room. It was decorated with furnishings from days gone by.
