The house is comfortably sized for four, kitchen is well-equipped, there are clear instructions where needed. This is a family vacation home rather than just a tourist cottage, and it really felt like something special the owners were sharing with us.

This cabin is not the most modern and chic but it felt so cosy and authentic. The lava formations around it were magical and it made for a great first base for us in Iceland and we stayed 2 nights - we really felt like we'd arrived somewhere really different. We love wildlife and were delighted to find a snipe on the porch on the first evening, loads of golden plover (including chicks), redwing and curlew. It was super cold when we arrived (weather obviously not the fault of the owner!) - about 4 degrees C in July, the wind was really going for it too - the small radiators were on and we quickly found the heater and were very cosy in no time. The bedrooms are very compact as is the bathroom but everything worked and was comfortable. We loved the inclusion of a good bean to cup coffee maker too. The location was excellent for days out in Husavik and Myvatn, we would have been happy to even have stayed a bit longer. It is off the beaten track, but the owner gave us super clear directions and we had no trouble finding it at all.

The kitchenette had all the utilities we needed. The electric stove was stored on a drawer under the sink. But the best thing was the sympathy our hosts showed us. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights, but unfortunately were caught up in the middle of a snow storm, so they refound us for the first night we couldn't get there and stayed in contact with us throughout those days, indicating us the best way to arrive on the guesthouse since most roads leading there were closed or slippery.

Excellent breakfast. Very interesting property with over 100 horses used for tourist trips. Only 5 minutes drive to the centre of town.

Το Kaldbaks-kot cottages προσφέρει καταλύματα με δωρεάν WiFi, παιδική χαρά, κήπο και δωρεάν ιδιωτικό χώρο στάθμευσης. The cottages are perfect - 3 mins carride from Husavik. We loved the hottubs and the lake with two boats that we could use for free.
