We loved our 2-night stay here. The house is comfortably sized for four, kitchen is well-equipped, there are clear instructions where needed. This is a family vacation home rather than just a tourist cottage, and it really felt like something special the owners were sharing with us.

Laxhús is situated in Laxamýri, 85 km from Akureyri. Free private parking is available on site. Husavik is 8 km away. All units feature a flat-screen TV. Some units have a seating area and/or terrace.... Lovely small hut, very much enjoyed the stay! Highly recommended

Vetursetur is a holiday home with a terrace, located in Aðaldalur. The property is 80 km from Akureyri and free private parking is provided. This cabin is not the most modern and chic but it felt so cosy and authentic. The lava formations around it were magical and it made for a great first base for us in Iceland and we stayed 2 nights - we really felt like we'd arrived somewhere really different. We love wildlife and were delighted to find a snipe on the porch on the first evening, loads of golden plover (including chicks), redwing and curlew. It was super cold when we arrived (weather obviously not the fault of the owner!) - about 4 degrees C in July, the wind was really going for it too - the small radiators were on and we quickly found the heater and were very cosy in no time. The bedrooms are very compact as is the bathroom but everything worked and was comfortable. We loved the inclusion of a good bean to cup coffee maker too. The location was excellent for days out in Husavik and Myvatn, we would have been happy to even have stayed a bit longer. It is off the beaten track, but the owner gave us super clear directions and we had no trouble finding it at all.

Featuring free WiFi and a barbecue, Skógar Sunset Guesthouse offers accommodation 13 km from Húsavík. Each self-catering studio features a kitchen with a stove top, microwave and fridge. The guesthouse was very confortable, spacious, clean and well-decorated. The kitchenette had all the utilities we needed. The electric stove was stored on a drawer under the sink. But the best thing was the sympathy our hosts showed us. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights, but unfortunately were caught up in the middle of a snow storm, so they refound us for the first night we couldn't get there and stayed in contact with us throughout those days, indicating us the best way to arrive on the guesthouse since most roads leading there were closed or slippery.

Located 5 km from central Húsavík, Saltvík Farm Guesthouse offers accommodation with views of the surrounding mountains and Skjálfandi Bay. Great place just outside of Húsavik. The room was very clean and comfortable. Beds were nice and the shower was great. The kitchen is amazing. Very big and any type of equipment you can imagine. We we're very happy about that, as a trip to Iceland can get very costly if you can't cook your own meal from time to time. Staff was very friendly and made us feel right at home.

The location was gorgeous with amazing views next to a bird sanctuary and views of snow capped mountains across the bay. The hot tubs were great. The cabins were well equipped with what we needed.
