I don't remember at this point whether I had breakfast. I had an early train to Albi on Friday, October 13, 2023, so I think I did not have breakfast.

l'Albuconis 7 is a lovely, spacious apartment in the heart of Aubusson steps from the picturesque Creuse River. The apartment was huge and the kitchen was well supplied for a family or a special gathering. It was also walking distance to the Tapestry Museum, various ateliers, and tapestry gallery spaces, a primary reason for visiting Aubusson. There were plenty of places for lunch and dinner close by, as well as Pascal's restaurant down the street which was wonderful.

First of all the young ladies at the reception are so sweet and very patient with my less than good French. The owner is an interior designer and it shows in everything. Stylish and they have my absolute favorite soaps at the hotel.
old part was historic looking. However, on arrival I was quite disappointed as the city looked run down. Certainly did not feel a rich vibrant place as the centre of tapestry manufacture in Aubusson style. I was interested in buying tapestries, but there was not a tapestry shop in sight - though I did locate one the next day after going to the tourist office. However, I did travel in late January, and it very likely the place is not at its best or most appealing at this time...

Aubusson is an interesting historic town although you would perhaps have to be interested in learning about tapestry if you visited. However, there is more to the town. It would be worth spending time wandering the streets and looking at the architecture.

A little gem! The rooms are outstanding on a par with 4 star hotels. The owners have put their heart and soul in the design and decoration of the rooms. There is underfloor heating in the bathroom, modern and brilliant shower, en-suite child bedroom, fire insert etc. The hotel de colbert is right in the middle of the town and very quiet. We did not eat in the restaurant but my family eats there regularly are are full of praisefor the food and experience. I will be back!
The highlight of our stay was the conversations with the owners of the hotel. Absolutely charming people! Very helpful with dinner recommendation (Le Lissier) which by the way was really good. Eric kept us entertained and Lisette kept us informed, as we talked about France, property and much more. Very interesting and useful. If we're in Aubusson again we will definitely stay there again!
PS Great room, great breakfast too.
loads of charm & character. fantastic suite with comfy bed. shower lovely. olde worlde charm. obviously care and attention to detail in the renovation.
Restaurant had a good selection of dishes, fairly priced. although our steak was over cooked it’s likely the translation so possibly my fault for saying bien qui, which I’ve said extensively in France for no blood ( medium rare ) but our steak was very very well done.
Our hosts were wonderful, warmly welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. We had a superior king room on the ground floor which had access to the back garden, and was large and very comfortable. The other rooms are upstairs. The hotel is close to the tapestry museums and the main street. Breakfast was generous and delicious, as was the evening meal we had there. We highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

Outstanding location in Aubusson. Beautiful and interesting interior design and very well equipped. A perfect example of how old buildings can be sympathetically and carefully restored and repurposed.
