It is a nice place and the food is good. Lovely cider. The rooms, which are purpose-built and outside of the main building, each with private access and parking close by, are excellent. The owner is a very nice helpful man.
One can walk up a short lane and hill behind the pub to see castle remains, fantastic views and access to the adjacent country park on the Downs.

I live in the area stayed in maidstone Great Danes as kept it local for a Hen night. Why go elsewhere when we have plenty of options on the doorstep. Great Danes hotel fitted our needs with the Bingo Loco night there. Maidstone has plenty to do, and places to visit and stay.

Rather fed up being asked to complete reviews for this Hotel. It's like having a beautiful girl keep asking if she is pretty! This Hotel has on every occasion I have stayed exceeded my expectations and has been good value for money, The Friendly staff make the difference with nothing being too much trouble. Add a decent breakfast to the mix and excellent pool etc, what else could you want. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately Maidstone has been ruined by some awful planning decisions. The shopping has degraded thanks to the challenges for towns nowadays. Maidstone is a particularly bad sufferer. It’s a mess. The far end of Week street is a place to be sure to avoid.AAnonymousAustralia - 2.0Scored 2.0

There's a cupboard, hairdryer, iron & board, tea & coffee, biscuits, wine glasses, a fridge with some bottled water, microwave, toaster, kettle, towels, handwash, a bathroom kit and a TV with Netflix which was great for the evenings. The property is also 5-10 mins from a big Sainsburys, an Odeon Cinema and the town centre. We would recommend to others!CameronUnited Kingdom

Perfect place too stay if your team got Maidstone United FC at the Gallagher stadium. Lovely walks along the river and so many shops, pubs and restaurants so close by.
