Beautiful property in a stunning location, rooms were very luxurious and comfortable and the views were stunning! Vicki was a great host, and the breakfasts were incredible, just what we needed before a day of hiking. It was a lovely touch coming back in the afternoon to home-baked cakes. Would recommend this property to anyone coming to Skye.

A great B & B style cosy accommodation for exploring that area. We hiked Old Man Of Storr before arriving and appreciated the homemade scones from our host Margaret. We chose porridge from the breakfast selections and it was delicious and hearty before heading off early for hiking Quiraing.

The Loch Eyre Oasis is just 10 minutes away from Portree and at a very lovely location for sunsets.

There's a lot of attention to small details in this place, which I absolutely loved. The room also came with board games and some snacks. What's not to like?
Staffing is an amazing place.
Lots of walks, views, nature and activities.
A tiny dinosaur’s museum at just 5’ away.
Just around the corner of the beach and waterfalls.
Great views from outside the house and good internet.

The area around Staffin is so beautiful.
The area around Staffin is so beautiful. Very secluded so you do need a car. It’s very close to the Quiriang for hiking or just checking out the beautiful vistas. We used this as our home base for Isle of Skye and everything on Skye is easily accessible from the Staffin area. Things are all close distance wise, but driving is slow on the narrow roads so will take longer than you think and Apple Maps actually did a very good job at predicting the time for a journey. The roads were better than we expected but do keep an eye out for potholes!
We cooked our meals but Portree has lots of options for restaurants and groceries. Staffin itself has a small convenience store and cafe with friendly staff.

While at Staffin we drove and/or walked to many of the local and nearby areas and points-of-interest. No matter what we found the views unique and worth the effort, and, the people extraordinarily welcoming, helpful and happy to answer our questions about the town and its history. Being near the ocean the roads, hills and sidewalks offered very walkable options for our outdoor sojourns — just be sure to dress in layers as the wind can quickly change to feel of the day.

Not very much to do here as most everything is closed other than a Spar shop and takeaway, quite dissapointed to be honest as there are quite a few B&B's in the area with not a lot of choice for eating dinner etc, other than a hotel which charged me 50% of my B&B stay for dinner, ridiculous in my opinion.......will never be back

I dragged my partner up to Staffin to hunt for dinosaur footprints - and we found some! Sadly the dinosaur museum was shut when we were there, but we've added it to our list for when we go back... We also checked out the castles in the area. Really lovely scenery - you can see the Old Man of Storr nearby which would be perfect for keen walkers...

We stay there and everything there is more than enough for any one .
This is a very charming home with all the characters..even the indoor plants have a wow factor.
I would definitely recommend this ...living there was such a pleasure
There is a beach within a walking distance and its feel like very private ...no many people just one or 2 .
There is plenty to enjoy ...walking hiking and climbing .
We went to fairy pools so don't forget to get some midges spray :)and recommend good hiking shoes.
Old man of Storr is another place where tou can go ...even just sitting in the garden or conservatory is a magical experience.
Definitely recommend and wants to go back and stay more just to enjoy my walks to the beach ⛱
Delightful and helpful hosts, excellent breakfasts, quiet, large and comfortable en suite room. The accommodation is not in walking distance of eating places but we ate at the Columba 1400 Youth Project restaurant just a few miles down the road in Staffin which was excellent - great food and staff. Do eat there! The accommodation is well positioned to explore particularly the Northern part of Skye which we did and enjoyed very much. We would like to return to Skye and would definitely stay again at Beinn Edra House.
The home was very easy to find in Staffin as there was signage starting at the main road. The room was large and included a small sitting area for eating, a mini-fridge with fresh milk, and a lovely tea set up. We had plenty of room for our luggage and the en-suite bathroom was clean and convenient. The bed was large and comfy and we felt right at home! The breakfast was delicious and served in a fantastic room with views of the ocean and the dramatic landscape of Skye. We would definitely stay here again!
What did we like? Everything! The rooms, kitchen and bathrooms were very clean, beds comfortable, rooms well maintained and spacious with 2 ensuites. The view was fantastic from the living room and kitchen. Parking is more than enough for 3 cars.
Ben, the property manager was very helpful, professional, friendly and went out of his way when we asked for colouring pencils for the children.
I will book the Taste of the Sea property when visiting the Isle of Skye again. Can't praise it enough.
The location was perfectly situated between Portree and Staffin on the prettiest little piece of land with views of the coast on one side and a vegetable garden on the other. The house itself was very modern, clean, and well appointed with all the things you could want for a comfortable stay. The bathroom was heavenly with a rainfall shower and fluffy towels. The bed was a beautiful work of art with the highest quality and most comfortable bedding. The temperature control was perfect.
Fantastic location in Staffin at the top part of the island next to a loch, beautiful and peaceful. Great facilities, log burner, comfy sofas, dishwasher and great bathrooms. The bath needs a mention as it's amazing, and the view from the window is perfect when you go for a bath. recommended!
Great location. Close to beach and museum's and a 30 min drive to portree
Close to staffins amenities.
Wonderful hosts. Very friendly.
Plenty space for pets as you can use the crofts to let them run about
More on offer than described such as access to the caravan for a private shower
Very friendly and helpful staff. Location is perfect to allow you to explore this region. Views from room and dining room were stunnning. Breakfast was very nice.Very quiet area and perfect relaxing place. Walking distance to Staffin bay for dinosaur foot print hunting.
Fantastic stay at this lovely property. A typical pretty Isle of Skye white house, away from the hustle and bustle of town. Amazing shower, I could spend ages in it and lovely warm water whenever we wanted it. Close to some beautiful sights on the Island, we loved it!
The house is very comfortable, on 2 floors, with private parking. It is well located for hiking in the Quiraing, Old Man of Storr, or Fairy Glen, beautiful places, but is a bit far from other places to discover on the Isle of Skye, such as Fairy Pools or Nest point.
- the history of the hotel
- the staff is absolutely lovely and very pro
- the Flora McDonald cottage is very cute and comfy
- the breakfast and the dinner were absolutely delicious! The quality of the food is excellent and worth any penny.
Very clean and comfortable, good location in north of Skye near Staffin. Very close to several good hikes, about 20 minutes from Portree. The owner was very helpful and communicative. All in all a very pleasant stay.
Superb view of Quiraing and Staffin bay, close by to all the places we wanted to visits, superb host Donald who welcome us and make our stay so comfortable. Highly recommended.
