This friendly hotel has lovely views over the sea and estuary and offers good-value food. It is a good base for visits to Waterford, Cashel, Cork City and Cobh.

I loved the choice of continental plus the cooked breakfast
Offering a la carte restaurant, Aherne's is located in the seaside town of Youghal in County Cork on Ireland's beautiful south coast. There is free parking and free Wi-Fi access is available.

A real pity to see this landmark guest house fall from grace. While the guest rooms were clean and comfortable, the property is nowhere close to being a 4 star Blue Book guesthouse. Breakfast was fine, with Ann’s homemade brown bread being a highlight; however it was a real pity that the full breakfast was nothing special and the scrambled eggs inedible.
Most disappointing was the seafood open sandwich which included some questionable tinned fish and didn’t seem to include any fresh seafood on the plate at all. We were hoping for a much nicer experience but it wasn’t worth €200 bnb so we won’t be back.

Quirky little space - provided Berocca, but no milk! Coffee was good, though.
Located at the entrance of Youghal Harbour, Avonmore House B&B is set in a Georgian house, on the grounds of a former Franciscan Abbey.

Mary and John are great hosts. The house is beautiful, is ideally located in the city and has a parking. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are perfect and generous. We warmly recommend Avonmore House.

Perfect Location .. Beautiful view .. Very Clean .. Will book again 👌
Youghal is located at a river estuary. It has a history - we stayed at the Sir Walter Raleigh hotel - and a number of historic buildings in town and on the water front. We stayed overnight. I had a long, interesting, exploratory trip along the boardwalk along a wide, blue flag beach. It’s a destination for family holidays, it’s well worth a stop on a trip along the south coast of Ireland.
Fabulous unspoilt seaside resort. Charming friendly people. Magnificent sunsets & beaches galore. Easy walking around town and along the promenade/strand. Bertie’s pub for great Guinness & atmosphere even on rainy afternoon.
Clancy’s for great food & service.

I love Youghal.
I love Youghal. I have been visiting and sometimes staying there for years. For a seaside resort I find it very peaceful. Plenty of places to eat and everyone has been very friendly. Clancy's is probably my most favourite bat/restaurant. Good value for money.

Youghal was a lovely town with lots of independent shops, cafes and pubs. Signs indicate that a parking disk is required but the Tourist Board told us when we were there that parking was free everywhere. Would be sensible to check if this is still the case.

Youghal is a lovely friendly seaside town.
Youghal is a lovely friendly seaside town. The newly extended boardwalk makes for a scenic walk. There is a long beach with some great views all year long. Had breakfast in a little cafe named 'Sage'. Had a full Irish breakfast for €10. I could not recommend this cafe more.

Youghal is a busy town, lots of shops and places to eat.lovely to walk around and sit looking out at the sea. Was sad to see that a no. of shops are closing down, obviously the result of COVID 19. Smashing little cinema there too.
The breakfast was good. Staff was possibly stretched thin. But once they realized we had not been taken care of they brought us coffee. They could have checked back with us. We got what we needed eventually.
I own a tour company and wanted to decide if I would use Walter Raleigh Hotel for my groups. I do only 16 people max. 8 to 10 rooms would be required at the most. So I did a little FAM trip this time to Ireland. I am very impressed with this hotel!
Thank you!

Absolutely loved our stay at this property, the hosts were so lovely and Friendly and very welcoming I would 100% stay at here again. The apartment was stunning with beautiful views of the beach the location was excellent with it only being a 10 minute walk into the town and with a stunning bar and restaurant across the street. I would highly recommend this property to friends and families and anyone interested in staying in youghal.
The view from the balcony is spectacular! We loved having our morning tea sitting on the porch. The hosts are very personable and attentive. We only stayed one night on our way from on place to another, but would have enjoyed having more time. Youghal is a great village with an interesting history and plenty of places to visit. Also enjoyed the local restaurants. Looking forward to visiting again!
We stayed at Avonmore for 2 nights. The breakfast at this B & B was exceptional. Beautiful food so well prepared and presented. It set us up for the day. John and Mary were lovely hosts and were very welcoming and friendly. Bed was so comfy and the room very spacious. We also enjoyed the outside garden space on a lovely sunny evening - which had very pretty lights at night time.
The view was amazing, the property was very close to town, and everything was extremely clean and comfortable. Barbara is an excellent cook and had great recommendations for dining as well as where to listen to traditional music ("The Nook"). I would highly recommend this property, as well as the town of Youghal, for those visiting this area of Ireland.
The location is amazing, with incredible sea views and walks. Whilst a little out of the town you still have easy access to pubs, restaurants etc. The hosts were warm and welcoming and the apartment is a 'home from home' with everything you could need and more.
Staff were friendly and professional and the hotel was clean, bright and fresh. The food was absolutely incredible and a lovely variety too. Perfect for me as I don’t eat meat. We loved our stay and would definitely be back.
The location of the property couldn't be better. The town of Youghal with all of it's shops and restaurants is an easy walk in one direction and the beach is right outside your door in the other direction.
Host Denise was very helpful before arrival .The house was so comfortable. A Welcome gift on arrival , much appreciated. The House was immaculate. Good location for sight seeing around Cork and Waterford
Great Hosts, great Breakfasts, great Rugby banter with Peter, even though he’s a Munster man andI turned up in my Leinster cap!
Can’t recommend enough if you’re in East Cork

Wonderful service by hosts - they were very welcoming and helpful!
Great bed, shower and lovely views from property. Around the corner from town centre.
