I stayed in Varkala for 3 nights. This was mainly due to train timings. 2 nights would’ve been enough. I did a yoga class and auryvedic massage on the last day this would have been better in the second day.
What I did find slightly confusing was the references to North & South Cliff whereas I think South Cliff was an extension of the cliff walk - starting with North cliff.
Plenty of choice for food although a particular favourite was Sun Francisco - the Veg Tali was delicious and good value for money.

Varkala beach is busy very busy on weekends with lots of Indian tourists. The cliff side walk has lots of restaurants and shops. We found the beach a bit rough with the waves but beyond the waves it was calm . The stairs to the beach can be challenging if you have knee issues . It’s has a good atmosphere but we prefer less touristy places hence staying at Odayam each area .

Touristic place.
Touristic place. So lots of restaurants with a large variety of meals, bars, shops, ressorts, loud music, massage.
Best restaurant is Clafouti for me.
Nice beaches, big temple.
This is a tourist destination. India' s soul not there. Crowdy, noisy, pushy salesmen, beggers, stray dogs.
Pretty dirty environment cause of littering.
2 to 3 days stay is enough.

Beautiful views from the cliffs, plenty of beaches, option to learn surfing (!), good food, and the most gorgeous mangrove/backwaters (30 mins away).... that's Varakala in nutshell. Lovely cliffside walks with breaks for some ice cream at Scoopy or a whole Israeli breakfast(yummmm) at Buddha Bar. We loved ABBA for all other hunger pangs. Having a rented scooter to go around the places away from the cliffs helps, but there were plenty of Autos as well.

Its took travel time is too far, Kerala roads are not good.
Its took travel time is too far, Kerala roads are not good. Many people not follow traffic rules. Really upset to road travel to Kerala. Many sign boards are shown only in Malayalam Language, we struggled with read.
Except that places are really good and peoples also very friendly.
it’s well located near to the cliff and all the other nearby places !! it’s in north cliff very near to beach and helipad (parking). moreover it’s a chill place to peace out !! Jehangir who was the property manager was the most hospitable person I have encountered. he was with us all through out our stay and has been making our needs meet. usually, as far my experience with hotel staff goes, staff do their job as a job , but this guy understand the value of a customer. come visit this place and u ll understand what I mean.
Location : Its very near to Varkala north cliff and easily access by main road.
Host: Superb hosting by Rafi Brother, he was helpful to get 2 wheeler on rent right on the hour we requested and likewise vehicle till Varkala Railway station
Payments: Through UPI
AC: No issues, working as expected
Pictures: Property pictures available online is exactly as the real thing
Safety: Stayed with my wife for 3 nights and she felt is safe property with friendly host
Very beautifully decorated house and garden with many stylish details and thoughtful touches . We loved that each room had its own balcony all so pretty.. It was a luxurious stay and we hardly wanted to leave the property as it was very peaceful and even had a couple of resident ducks. The owner Ajay was delightful and very interesting to talk to. It was well placed for walking 5 mins down to the beach on south cliff and then up again to north beach.
Really nice and well-kept hotel. Probably one of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed in, in the whole of India. Rooms are spacious. Everyroom has a balcony with comfortable chairs. It is near the main Varkala Beach and strip of restaurants Rs but isn’t noisy. The hotel staff are welcoming and friendly. I was offered the chance to explore the local market but didn’t fancy it - but the option is there. The cafe onsite is good too.
The kind of people that come here and their energies, including Ram, is amazing. I was happy and didn't feel like leaving.
The place is closer to varkala beach and auto stand within a walking distance and does have all the facilities nearby that one could expect.
The accessibility of this place is good as well unlike other places as you can have difficulty finding access to other hostels/dormitories in the north cliff.
The stay was very good, it was big enough for 2 people with all the facilities, the location is just 20m away from the cliff view, the varkala beach is just 5mins away. The rooms were very clean and the caretaker Akhil was very helpful , he arranged a rental scooter and dropped us to the bus stop on the day of check-out. The view for the sea from the avanthi restaurant is just beautiful.
Beautiful elegant decor and incredible view in a wonderful spot - this is a charming boutique hotel. The a la carte breakfast was fantastic and the staff always friendly and available. Don’t underestimate the benefit of being a bit removed from the loud main passageway of Varkala’s north cliff - we slept with the sound of the ocean waves instead of tuktuks and parties…
Beautiful new space. Clean, comfortable and great hospitality. Property is just down a small laneway from the busy cliff side - full of cafes, restaurants and quaint gift/clothes shops. We needed to leave early for a train and the host checked in on us to make sure we arrived at our next destination safely. Best hotel we stayed in throughout our 3 weeks in India.
Really gorgeous room and garden area. Enjoyed the breakfast provided. Loved doggy cuddles. Lovely staff. The location is really nice in a peaceful area south side of Varkala, only 15mins walk along the beach or 100/150 rupees in a tuk tuk to north cliff.
Also recommend the Ayurvedic massage and treatments in the place opposite.
Perfect place to stay in Varkala.
Stayed here for 2 nights..we are 2 girls visited varkala for the first time..sajeev ji helped us very much..the breakfast was homemade by sajeev ji's wife and very good south Indian food and some fruits..had puttu for the first time..loved it💜
Very safe place..you can see beach from your room...and only 1 min walking distance..highly recommended for anyone💜
The location of the hotel is excellent. The location is within the posh area of Varkala North Cliff. One can enjoy all sorts of food during your stay. Though a cafe cum restro is inside the premises but there is limits in room services. The food is good but they used ajjina moto in their Chinese cuisines by claiming openly.
This place is perfect because it’s the only resort directly at the varkala beach. everyone else needs to climb down the cliff while you just step out onto the sand.
All the other stuff you expect from a hotel are good too. I had the cheapest room and it’s perfectly fine. the Restaurant is good too and the staff super nice
One of the best stays in Varkala !!
Extremely helpful staff and the owner Thayoob sir was very kind and welcoming ! A little far from the north cliff...however the location is peaceful and at a walkable distance from the sea. Their breakfast was remarkable. Highly recommend and would come here again !
The room was very clean and tidy with a good ambience. The washroom was also neatly maintained. The staffs were helpful and arranged everything as needful. The best part is the access to beachside cliffs for morning and evening walk which the normal tourist public doesn't know. I highly recommend it..
This villa is really beautiful. Room and the place was very clean. Hosts were very welcoming and we were offered welcome drinks as well as a continental breakfast. It’s located in a peaceful neighbourhood but still an easy access to the cliff and beach with 15 mins walk
I loved how the property is located close to the north cliff and yet affordable. The host was very helpful and kind, we had the most wonderful time at Varkala. what I loved most is the adorable little dog of the owner, who welcomes all with a smile .
