I am not so much a fan of Port Antonio town but the area of Portland is my favourite as it’s so beautiful and peaceful. I always stay longer in the part of the island as it’s so wonderful to come from a big city like a London to this peaceful paradise.

We didn't spend a lot of time in the town of Port Antonio, but did have a delicious fish and lobster dinner at Roots 21. We mostly went to the beaches near fairy hill and Zion hill. Taxis are plentiful but we chose to use Polish Princess charter service as it was raining and or dark when we went out for dinner.

The main problem being in port Antonio is transportation if you are not driving. because it is not a tourist area like montego Bay or Negill, you may have difficulty reaching there or when you are Leaving!! I have been here about six times now And that is the biggest problem. There are great restaurants here with great food food along the area near Boston beach. Even though the jerk centers are not always that greatest according to reputation. the jerk restaurant right at the Boston beach Guest house entrance was excellent also also Rocky's fried chicken was good. I don't recall the names of a few of the other restaurants!!

Port Antonio is very charming place to visit in Jamaica.
Port Antonio is very charming place to visit in Jamaica. The town itself is very lively, and the surrounding area has lots of outdoor attractions do including, Frenchmans, cove, blue Lagoon, horseback riding, and more.
Be aware, however, that the roads are rough! There was construction going on as of late November 2023 when we visited. So we were stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic at one point while they closed the road. There is only one main road and one lane each direction so getting around takes some time, even tough the distance between attractions may seem short.
Also have your wits about you when interacting with street vendors, they may overcharge you. So ask for prices upfront and calculate your total before handing over any cash. We got ripped off and wound up paying $1,000 JMD for a fritter, Callaloo and breadfruit but it was our fault for not double checking the total.

I love the parish of Portland and always enjoy being in Port Antonio. Decent, kind, welcoming people and the many attractions to visit and beaches to visit.
I am just hoping they fix the roads sooner than later.

Lovely authentic town but not for the faint hearted travellers. You need to go with the flow and chat to the locals! The harbour area is pretty but the town is 'real', nothing touristy about it, which we love but it's not for everyone.
The beaches nearby are amazing but the road to get to them is largely unmade which makes the journey very slow! Overtime you can see they are improving it but I can't imagine it will be done in 2023.
The Guy at the front desk when we arrived to check in did not hand over to the staff the next morning that their is guest staying there and we would need breakfast. To be honest I was not impressed at all. Was tempted to go elsewhere from the moment we got there. We didn't feel comfortable and maybe because we look local we were treated locally because he didn't even know that we weren't from Jamaica. We just didn't feel welcome and it felt like it was all about the hotel getting paid.
The hotel has an amazing palace like structure, with well trained staff and large rooms. It is close to Port Antonio downtown (about 10 minutes by car) and 5 to 10 min alway from Frenchman's Cove Beach and Blue Lagoon spot. Taxis and other transportation options (such as vans) pass by in front of the hotel and they stop for you there, if you ask, making the location quite good. It has a great view and a beautiful garden, where you can have breakfast contemplating the nature.
We were welcomed by the staff on arrival and treated with love and respect. The food was so tasty we didn't want to eat anywhere else. The property is amazingly peaceful and a short walk to the river or beach. Highly recommend as a place to escape from the hustle and bustle of life. The staff was my favorite part, they were attentive, kind, and went out of the way to make our stay unforgettable.
The location of the bungalow was good it was in good driving proximity for all the hype areas such a blue lagoon and Boston Beach etc. the staff was very welcoming and are easily reached because someone is always on site just in case you had concerns at any given time. I like that hot water was available for showering.
The view was amazing and the bedroom’s are a great size with balcony’s overlooking the sea.
The hotel was peaceful, and the staff and the food were great. Overall we had a lovely stay and I would return and recommend to friends. There are definitely areas to be improved for the price.
This is the best place to stay in Port Antonio - I have the basis to make a comparison. Clean - extraordinary clean! Cozy and secure external space. Internally - modern with enough space (I didn't expect that). Secure car park. Well done!
What a beautiful little paradise in the jungle. There is a lot to do around port Antonio and this place is a perfect base. You immediately feel relaxed on a nice veranda with a beautiful view and amazing hosts.
Loved the location, walk away from the centre , some good bars, street food and a short drive from the local beech. The food in the hotel is lovely and inexpensive. Really clean. Bed very comfortable.
- Very nice&clean room in the centre of Port Antonio, the whole town is within walking distance
- Host is absolutely lovely & helpful
- Restaurants are nearby and there's an equiped kitchen as well
Great place! Definitely gonna stay here next time im in Jamaica. It's near many beaches twenty minutes from town and has some restaurants near by. Stefano is also an amazing host and human being!
With little more management insight this property can do better.
