The property was a short, flat walk from Flam Marina and the Train Station.
The reception staff were extremely helpful and allowed us to store our motorbike kit on the morning of our departure, while we took the train trip journey.
The single beds, although really narrow, were comfortable with lovely linen, duvets and pillows. The toiletries in the bathroom smelt great.
Dinner in the hotel was delicious and as good as any dinner we have had in good restaurants in Norway. The beetroot soup was so tasty I could have eaten a second bowl.
Breakfast was ok, a selection of yogurt, fruit, cereals, bread, jam as well as bacon and scrambled eggs.
The hotel also had unlimited coffee available in reception.

Incredibly clean and spacious apartment with a breath-taking view from the balcony. Balcony has enough space for 4 to dine or 2-3 to sit on a swinging chair just to enjoy the view. Location is as good as it gets in Flåm and staff were really friendly as well.
This may very well be the most comfortable stay out of my entire trip to Norway!

The location is ideal for the fjord boat tour and the train (10 mins walk max). Also the staff were helpful when we were running late for check in, very flexible and were happy to wait for us and for us to charge our car after check our. The cabins have beautiful surroundings. We were also helpfully placed next to the bathrooms so it wasn’t too much of a trek to use toilets / showers!

Nothing. Expensive, out of town with no shuttle & no taxis.a kettle but no tea or anything..no real bedroom, only 2 beds together just inside the front door, our worst stopover in Norway & the most expensive. Even the access to the “chalet” is over a dirt track ! This is a con & a rip off.

Beautiful location with good public transport links.
Beautiful location with good public transport links. Touristy obviously with the Flam railway at its core including rail museum and clothing outlets. As a base for car touring you face long tunnels going north (25km) and south (5km) so not one for tunnel phobes. Viking themed restaurant and pubs kitschy but food and beer ok.

Flåm is one of the most stunning places I have ever visited.
Flåm is one of the most stunning places I have ever visited. Just postcard perfect everywhere you look.
The first night we had dinner at the Ægir Bryggeripub (Gulinbusti and the Viking Planke). It was probably one of the best meals we have ever had and I would highly recommend booking a dinner at this place, you will not regret it. After dinner, we sat downstairs around the open fire on sheepskin rugs and had a few drinks. The place has a lovely authentic atmosphere and it's a really cosy pub.
We got up early the next morning and got coffee and pastries at the bakery. We also bought some chicken sandwiches for lunch as we were planning a hike.
We took the mountain train (Flamsbana) to Myrdal and then back to a lower stop (Berekvarm)and hiked back to Flåm from here, as there was too much snow at the top to hike from Myrdal.
The hike was wonderful and it was some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen.
We stopped at Drøymehytta (a small hut just off the trail) with a perfect view of Rjoandefossen, cascading over the side of the mountain. We decided this was a perfect spot for lunch and the chicken sandwich we had bought earlier that morning were delicious.
It was an honour to visit Flåm and I hope to go there again at some point in summer when we can rent bikes and cycle down from Myrdal back to Flåm.
If you have means of transport then the Stegastien viewpoint, and Aurlandsvangen, just down the Fjord from Flåm are also definitely worth a visit.

Flam was an amazing location.
Flam was an amazing location. Even though is is set up for mainly tourists to transfer through on their way from Oslo to Bergen , it was a quaint little area with amazing views and hospitality. We were there before the tourist season started , so no cruise ships yet so it felt like we have the place all to ourselves.

We visited in mid March and the views of the snow covered hills was magical. It was very quiet in town as there were no cruise ships in port.
The Flamsbana railway trip was excellent, amazingly scenic and well worth the trip from Australia.
We opted to take the bus to Voss rather than the fjord cruise to Gudvangen due to the weather. The VY bus (VY450) arrived on time and was clean and comfortable. The scenery was lovely - lots of snow and small towns we'd love to come back to.

Flåm was the highlight of Norway for my husband and our 20 and 17yo daughters. It was one of the most beautiful places they have ever seen with their own eyes. Now they just want to go back when it is less cold!
If you are doing the Bergensbana don't go through straight through. Visit Flåm!

Pristine, quiet and very pretty town.
Pristine, quiet and very pretty town. We travelled in January, it was very peaceful. The Fjord cruise was fabulous.
We travelled on the Flam train both ways as in winter the cruise between Flam and Bergen does not run. It’s a definite on my list to travel to. We will be back in summer to see the changes. The Flam Marina has great accommodation with amazing views of the Fjord. Very easy to walk around this little village. With a number of cafes/restaurants to eat at. We had dinner at the Flam Marina Restaurant twice as the food was very good and reasonably priced for Norway.
This is a pleasant hotel, situated close to the shore, with a front decks that provides lovely views of the fjord and the surrounding mountains. Our modern room was a reasonable size with plain but pleasant decor and very comfortable beds. Good curtains, too. Breakfast and dinner were included in the tariff. Dinner was a budget meal of 3 courses but was tasty and filling. (Drinks can be purchased separately.) We really appreciated the all day tea and coffee that was available in the foyer.
The location is very near to Ferry station. The next door of the hotel is bakery shop, behide the hotel there is a supermarket which is very comfortable for us to find something we need. The room is very new , clean and neat. There are also cooking facilities, dish washing machine, vacuum and heaters in bedroom and living area. Ther room is separated by living area , bedroom, kitchen, badroom and little balcony. Our room is named by famous waterfalls in Fram ,Rjoandefossen,.
Unbelievable value.
I randomly found this on Booking.com during my research for accommodations in Flam on a particular budget.
I was staying with my sister on a road trip around Norway.
After a brief check-in, we drove to the house and thought we had just one room. We had the entire house. Amazing.
Clean, comfortable, spacious, functional, and beautiful views of the mountains from several angles of the house. It was remarkable. Will stay again in the future!!
A very comfortable cottage perched on a slope with an excellent view of the mountain ad waterfall from the balcony. It also over looks a flowing stream and the hamlet below. Very picturesque and we spend several hours on the balcony enjoying the view despite the cold. The lady owner was friendly and check-in & check-out was simple. The stay at this cottage was a highlight of our trip to Norway and also a regret - we only stayed one night.
Attractive looking hotel commanding prime position a very short walk from the train stop and the harbour and shops. Our historic room was very nice with view towards the fjord. Evening buffet good and tables outside to enjoy drinks and the beautiful view. Had lovely walk into Flam from hotel. A beautiful place for a night's stay on the Norway in a nutshell tour.
Friendly staff with great customer service. Room was clean, functional, and well suited to our overnight stay in Flam. I recommend this Hostel when travelling on the tour between Oslo and Bergen!
We didn't mind paying a little extra for the towels, but for convenience, perhaps these should be provided with the bed linen (which was included in the price).
Friendly staff made us welcome in a nice hotel. Dinner in next door Aegir brewery was good with friendly waiter. Staff went with us outside to show where breakfast was served. It was a very nice breakfast with a lot of choice.
We would definitely stay here again.
The view from our room was exceptional - looking straight out over the water and down the fjord.
Outside of the touristy village centre. Lovely walk along the boardwalk to the hotel, about 6 minutes from the station.
Lovely warm room with separate lounge.
The staff was very friendly and showed us around the space, which was nice. It was well equipped and comfortable. You really can't beat the location - right in the heart of Fläm! It was better than we expected and we would definitely stay here again!
Gorgeous location in valley with view of waterfall and Flåm Church. Host was very nice and even gave us a ride back to Flåm so we wouldn't have to walk or wait for the train in the rain. We wish we could have stayed longer. It was great!
Location was Great with the Boat ride nearby…..Souvenir shops and some nice Cafes n Expensive Restaurants.
View from the hotel was Lovely. Great Surroundings stole my heart, I’m going to return.
Kind Staff and Great Breakfast.
Our room was a good size with comfortable beds. We were able to heat the room as it was chilly. The bathroom was spacious and well equipped. The hotel was very close to the train station, shops and restaurants.
An old building with character. A warm welcome, and clear instructions about how the hostel operates. An easy walk of about 15 minutes from Flam station. Close to the impressive waterfall.
Wow Joe and his parents were so nice and helpful. We are travel in Norway for two weeks and no one helps us like Joe. The house is so clean and have everything you need. Very recommended.
The location and the price (compared to the others). It also has a kitchen in each house (at least the one I got) which is neccesary for early and late meals in Norway
