The staff were mostly polite, patient, and attentive. The property was very tidy and well maintained. There were always staff seen maintaining the grounds and tending to other things throughout the property. The location of the lodging was as good as it gets and I’m interested in returning and staying in a better, more updated room in the future.

buena vista, comida rica a un excelente precio. la langosta de lujo.
There is no reason to go to Liberia. It’s a transit point: to lovely beaches to the west; mountains and jungle to the east; and the Nica border to the north. That being said, the Chinese restaurant & the Indian restaurant (Masala) in the center of town were both very tasty! The international airport, which is close by brings in tourists traveling in the north of Costa Rica.

The streets are not marked so you can have a hell of a time finding your hotel if it is relatively small or unknown. It is close to a market where you can have breakfast. it is convenient to the airport.

We had to go all the way downtown for a bank machine.
We had to go all the way downtown for a bank machine. Information, such as bus scheduling was non existant at the station. You had to find someone who was familiar with the buses. There's not a lot of reason to stay in Liberia. It's more of a "stop off" due to the airport. Most eating places are downtown. There's not a great selection outside the core. Liberia is not a tourist friendly city.

Liberia is a good place to start traveling around Guanacaste...
Liberia is a good place to start traveling around Guanacaste and the Pacific northwest of Costa Rica..A good place to arrive as the airport is not as busy as San Jose. There are stores, including a large Walmart where you can get supplies. But I would not stay in the city except for 1 night when flying.

Liberia isn't a tourist town.
Liberia isn't a tourist town. It does allow you to see real Costa Rican life - which is the best part of travel. We walked all over town and always felt safe. It is also better to stay here than further north because you can catch tours that pick up travelers in Liberia.

I really enjoy Liberia.
I really enjoy Liberia. The downtown area by the park has lots of shopping. I went into a pharmacy and they had a free dr. who quickly diagnosed my problem and prescribed a medication that worked very well. There is a family run laundry with a half day turnaround. I really enjoyed a restaurant where the ceasar salad was made in front of you. It is two blocks from the main intersection on the right hand side of the road.
What would be very useful is a map of the city. We asked locals for directions and they were very helpful in directing us to what we needed.
Family owned and operated hotel was clean, comfortable and secure. They offered a shuttle to the airport for $25 for two of us that was very convenient. There is a dining room where one can purchase dinner. Complimentary breakfast was excellent - lots of options. There's a supermarket next door where you can purchase cold drinks. (We had a fridge in our room). Or groceries if you are just starting out on your vacation. Take out pizza across the street was pretty decent. Each room has a nice little outdoor sitting area.
Located right across from a mini mall, a variety of fast food chains/restaurants, and within walking distance to central Liberia. Felt safe + comfortable for the night.
Basic rooms with hot water, balconies that overlook into the lovely pool/ garden area and a nice breakfast with a variety of options.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Natalia was exceptionally helpful in responding to emails promptly and helping arrange a taxi from the airport ($25) and a shuttle ($130, 5pax) to Penas Blancas boarder.
The hostel is very conveniently located near the Bus station and Pali and the mercado municipale. The bus to the airport is 1 block away. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My private room with shared bathroom was simple but perfect for what I needed. Their wifi was also really good. I used it for video calls for my job with no issues. They disinfected everything in the room before I moved in and masks are worn in all common areas.
Location was awesome. It's a beautiful gated community with lovely pools, giant gardens and a nice common area. The weather in December is beautiful and sunny. The house is very well equipped and the bedrooms are comfy. Kitchen and living room are nice too, nice TV.
Several lovely beaches nearby (40 minute car drive): Playa Hermosa, Papagayo, Playas del Coco, Ocotal and Playa Panamá.
Liberia is 10 minutes away by car.
We hiked to all of the waterfalls and visited the hot springs and mud baths. There were many other more adventurous activities available too. Was a beautiful few days away from the beach and very conveniently locate less than an hour from Liberia Airport.
We ate at all of the restaurants. The service and food was very good. Excellent choices for vegetarians and some vegan options too.
Great hotel in Liberia. Location is convenient from airport and allows easy access to bus stations. Close to to downtown where there are plenty of restaurant and shops. AC rooms were comfortable. Lovely having a pool to use. Great Wifi, helpful staff and yummy breakfast! Will definitely book again when in the area!
This is a hotel in a developing nation. Not a resort. Base your expectations on that. It’s very close to the Liberia airport, they will shuttle you for $10 per couple. Good for an cheap overnight before an early flight. Next to the highway, can be noisy.
Location a little tricky to find (host picked me up by car at a nearby hotel). Quiet and safe! Excellent hosts. Easy to walk to store, park, neighborhood restaurants. Host washed and folded my clothes for a small fee.
The restaurant was packed at the same time because the hotel was booked out with a ton of guests meant to leave from the airport that morning but the food was great and the waitstaff was so patient and kind.
Proximity to Liberia airport and shuttle service was ideal. Rooms were quite spacious and the beds were comfortable. Garden pool area was surprisingly nice. Restaurant has a decent menu.
The pool area got a decent amount of sunlight, could have done with a few more lounge chairs.
The location was close to the airport and the hotel staff helped to organise my taxi.
The location was near the airport. About 15 mins away. Receptionist hardly speak English but she tried enough to be able to get us a van for our early flight the next morning.🥰
Large rooms, quiet AC, well equipped gym and giant pool. Breakfast is way better than at other nearby hotels. Price per night is very good, considering all the hotel offers.
Lovely restaurant and best breakfast we had during our two week stay in Costa Rica. Great pool area. Ideal for an overnight stay before heading to Liberia Airport.
The member of family are friendly and the hotel is located near a lot of places, the prices is acording with de accomodation but I think the breakfast isn't good.
