We visited Chennai for Medical purpose and found there's language problem. The outo rikshaw driver/ Shop keeper do not understand Hindi as well as English, they only understand local language, felt very uncomfortable communication with them. For medical purpose Chennai is good and for others I totally disliked.

I believe India's fourth largest populous city, so it's huge. Liked the Tuk Tuk rides in crazy city traffic. The museums were good plus amazing Hindu temples. The general vibe of a large Indian city. Felt always safe.

Must visit. People are warm. Culture is open ended. Malls especially amba is my all time favourite. Had food from mainly vegetarian restaurants. I would avoid taking taxi next time as public transport is still perfect in chennai. Getting around in taxi and auto is faster in this city. You can take a walk even in the night as people are respectful towards fellow human beings.

Beautiful place and nice people, though it was said, they only talk in Tamil, I found it incorrect coming from North India, they helped, in trains, taxi, Ola etc. Nice food. Good beaches, very good traveling measures, nice places around Chennai too.
Only it was hot for me...

Chennai is a surprisingly modern city in that its facilities and modes of transport are smooth and seamless. The metro is very convenient. The residents of Chennai, especially at their professions, have a pleasant professionalism and competence. While Chennai is warm, it isn't uncomfortably so.

Chennai is a huge, noisy, dirty city with horrendous traffic and very few tourist attractions. We only stayed there for a night at each end of our trip as we flew into and out of Chennai airport. I wouldn't bother spending any more time there than is necessary for transit to be honest.
After some confusion about the shuttle service (we took it to mean car both from and to the airport) we were very pleased with the car service to the airport. This is included in the price of the room making it great value for money. The pick up from the hotel was prompt and the driver got us to Chennai Airport quickly and safely. He was helpful in directing us where to go once we arrived. The room was clean and comfortable for an overnight stay.
Their is nothing to like full fraud and stupid people wasted my time. Still i confirmed them by phone call directly to the flagship residency because iam travelled to Chennai from Dubai. And they instructed me directly to pay money at the spot. After i reached their by believing them they told the rooms are full you can stay some other hotel. And their is no transpotation facility also near this flagship residency. Totaly spoiled my one day.
Courtesy of the staff.
The hotel has a restaurant on top floor with good ambience and food was really good. The restaurant staff were very polite and good.
We are thankful for the receptionist at hotel Mr. Parthi. He helped us in getting a vehicle for chennai tour and also went a step ahead and booked Cab for us through his OLA app when we were finding difficulty in getting on while our return from hotel to Railway station.
Arun Poli the chef was great, he has magic I his hands a simple aloo gobi with adrak tasted like amrtham, just the right amount of spice!
The Manchow soup was irresistable.
My cousin Hari a local was really impressed despite having eaten in several of the 5* hotels in Chennai!!!
Mayank from Indore and Devyani Roy (the Fuji brat) from Jabalpur both are excellent friendly and very helpful staff
There was no breakfast, the location is perfect, actually from hotel u cross the road the u can walk into the Chennai Central 1st Platform.
Ms. Jayashree & Maruthumani at the reception were very friendly. Rooms were neat, especially the washroom. Im a tour operator and i have never come across such kind of hospitality for a hotel like this. I will surely stay again, and recommend to others.
I book rooms in Chennai for my clients. And the service at this hotel is amazing. Exceptional customer service, with a commitment to making my guests comfortable, the staff are so nice and helpful. Special mention to Ms. Pratibha. The rooms were well-maintained, beds were exceptionally comfortable. The rooms were well-furnished and equipped. Enjoyed the food at breakfast.
We booked this hotel thinking that being an IHG property, it has a reputation. However this has been most disappointing experience. It is better to stay in nearby TAJ property - just a 5-10 minute difference but atleast you'll get some professionalism from TAJ people. Holiday Inn Chennai is a huge waste of money and totally unprofessional.
A great Hotel in the centre of Chennai and is an oasis of calm. Sometimes the service was a little slow especially around the Pool area.
The breakfast was very good, with both local and western food available.
Perhaps not the same quality as the Taj in New Delhi, but the bedrooms are massive and its very good value
It was a well restored old heritage hotels in Chennai...and has a view of the hustle and bustle of old Chennai with some rooms that have the view of the Victorian buildings near Central station. Felt like staying in tiny rooms from Moulin Rouge with colourful neon lights outside the window
South Indian food with lot of choices makes the break fast really attractive. Nearest to two famous hospitals, Apollo Hospitals Chennai and Sankara Netralaya, make the poor rating hotel unavoidably attractive.
This is the perfect hotel for a weekend getaway in Chennai . The downtown area on Main Street is a best kept secret and the G silver offers everything you need if you don’t feel like venturing out.
Nice and clean rooms. Although Hotel is not on main street, it is easily accesible. Very close to Chennai central railway station. Metro station is near. Vegetarian restaurants are near by.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting chennai
