Skopje city center still seems to be an undiscovered city for many western traveller's and is a must see even for a day or two. It is relatively small, safe and still cheap compared to other cities. The people were all friendly and went out of their way to assist and guide. The city is relatively flat so easy walking and a mixture of new and old architecture. Absolutly crazy architecture, designed by Polish architects after disastrous earhquake in 60. Amazing shuk. Great Makedonian wine (my favourites: Bile makedonskie from Stobi and dry white Aleksandria from Tikvesh). Nice, cool, people, speaking English. Friendly town dogs. River bank and parks. Skopje has a small city center, the buildings are in a strange style, not fitting in the towns history. There are a lot of statues, there literary everywhere! most shops are in shopping malls, the one in the center looks very old and is in bad shape. the others are far from the center, but modern and really nice. its good for a city trip, the food is amazing and the prices acceptable. one of the best places is the old bazaar, close to the center.

It is a city where you can find both tranquility and activity. You can spend time without getting bored. A city that tries to keep history alive. Its people generally have good attitudes and are calm people. It's definitely a place you should go and see.

The local’s friendly and most places take euros.Use only the official taxis with telephone numbers on the cabs. Mostly yellow and white. Be careful of potholes on streets and roads. Best value Deaf Dog food and Drink 🍺 Not far from soccer stadium. Go on the galleon SEVENGALLIA a drink 🥃 moored perm near stone bridge. Visit Turkish part for proper kebabs not like uk tasting far better than uk.

Skopje is a lovely city with beautiful center. Around the Macedonian Square you'll find plenty of statues and fontanas. On the old city side there are small shops in a narrow old pedestrian streets. There is also a bazaar-style area, where you can find food, vegetables, home utensils and basically everything in very cheap price. The area is really worth of walking. In Skopje there are plenty of nice restaurants, both modern style and traditional ones with tasty Macedonian food. The must to taste is ajvar, a tasty red side dish made mostly from red paprikas and eggplants. Skopje is affordable city and the people there are friendly. The city center is easy to handle and walk around. Taxis are also very cheap. Don't forget to visit the house of Mother Teresa and familiarize yourself her amazing life and how she became one of the most influential people in the world.Tara KooFinland

The host is amazing, we had an issue with the flight and he was checking on us all the time till we arrived at the apartment, super friendly, and you can also pay in euro so no need to change the money at the airport. The apartment is located in an area full of bars and restaurants and only 10 mins away from the city center. I totally recommend this apartment for your staying in Skopje!
