Tromsø is breathtaking and definitely worth visiting,...
Tromsø is breathtaking and definitely worth visiting, regardless of if you're chasing the polar lights, or just want to explore the city and the area during the day. The city is in close touch with nature and offers variety of different activities. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is going there during the Easter holidays (as I did), since a lot of stores, museums, restaurants, etc. tend to be closed.

Tromso is nice town with plenty of places to eat and drink.
Tromso is nice town with plenty of places to eat and drink. The restaurants offer a mixture of cuisine including local delicacies. There are a reasonable amount of shops offering local goods. It is an easy walk across the bridge to visit the Cable Car, definitely worth a visit to enjoy spectacular views. We arranged for a Northern Lights Tour which was fantastic. A comfortable, luxury coach drove us an hour outside of Tromso to an area with no light pollution, we had perfect weather so did not have to move on as the Northern Lights offered us the most wonderful light show for a four hour period. We were supplied with Hot Chocolate & cookies which kept us warm. The driver would have driven to another location if the weather had not been clear but on this occasion it was not necessary.

Tromsø is an amazing city.
Tromsø is an amazing city. It’s not as small as one may think.. has the right amount of grocery stores, cafés, bars etc. Quite a good nightlife, lots of young students/ tourists around so you’re never alone during solo travel! Tourism and guided activities are exceptional, they provide all the equipment, meals (in some cases) and transportation. Overall you will never be bored in Tromsø, I reccomend everyone to visit even if you’re not a sporty person there’s an activity for every fitness level.

Tromso is in the middle of aurora ring.
Tromso is in the middle of aurora ring. We are here just for northern light. During our visit in March, all road is damped and muddy, not easy to get around. Find a place to stay in warm weather for watching aurora. Getting to mountain by cable car is my favorite activity to see Tromso at night with aurora.

This city is an amazing location to go on a Aurora Borealis tour! Marianne's expertise and commitment to helping travelers achieve their dream of seeing the Aurora is unmatched. I highly recommend booking multiple nights with her like we did. So good to support a local woman owned business.

We loved staying at Marthas Apartments. The view was amazing! We even saw the Northern Lights from our living room window on the last night of our stay! The rooms were spacious and the furnishings, including the bed, were very comfortable! Best of all was the host family. Daughter Christine gave us a fine introduction to the area, with day trip suggestions. Host Are was especially helpful in getting us to our Northern Lights adventure on the night of a huge concert in Tromso! Martha provided a spacious living space! Fabulous.
Room was tiny, but I booked a single room, so it wasn't a huge surprise. The main floor of the hotel is comfortable and welcoming. The staff was always friendly and accommodating. The main pros of the hotel for me were the central location and the breakfast. The location is right in the middle of Tromso center, near the water, tons of restaurants, shops and bus stops convenient to the airport and other destinations. The breakfast was fantastic - tons of options and well organized.
Our stay was perfect and wonderful. Perfect house to see the northern lights, quiet and with everything you need for a pleasant stay. The views are stunning. Kristin has been a great host, thoughtful and solving any questions for the best our stay. It has been a romantic experience, beautiful and I recommend 100%. You will love the environment, its tranquility and above all if you can see the aurora borealis over the house, as we saw it. Awesome ❤️🇧🇻
Absolute perfect location got lost finding it don't know why it was straight forward. Got bus from airport easy. Everyone was so friendly added bonus free tea coffee hot chocolate biscuits and make your own waffles what a bonus for free had with norways brown cheese and jam amazing. So quiet and warm. Bed sheets and towels included much better experience than a hotel just perfect def recommended shared bathroom and toilet so clean and private
We stayed in the standard twin bedroom. We loved the design and the cosiness of the room and the common areas. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was squeaky clean. The hotel is conveniently located close to supermarkets, bars and bus stops, including the airport bus stop. We also loved the self-check-in (it was our first time in Norway so we didn't know that could be a thing).
the hotel is situated next to the harbour and the town centre. The room we got was rather small but very clean and it had all you need for a 1 night stay. The beds were comfortable and in the bathroom you get very good shampoo and a shower gel - which not always happens nowadays. Breakfast was also really good - lots of choice and some local products like fish, etc.
We loved staying here we had such a good trip. It’s a lovely hotel food is nice and staff helpful. It’s close to the airport and meeting points for trips.
We loved Tromso and we were lucky to see northern lights in all their glory in November - we wouldn’t recommend whale watching tour. Loved the reindeer safari and northern lights trip and Tromso is amazing
The room was very comfortable with exceptionally cozy beds and pillows. The heated floors were an added bonus. Lots of room in the bathroom with good water pressure. The hotel is located in a very good location for all activities. The breakfast buffet is one of the best in northern Norway! And a wonderful bar located on the eleventh floor with amazing views.
The provided breakfast was very good and a nice way to start off the day. The location of the hotel, a hill up from the main streets, but still very close and easily walkable. An elevator made it easy to transport luggage. The rooms are compact and minimally furnished, but it was enough for my stay, and generally met my expectations.
This is a great hotel option in Tromso. Everything is very close in the downtown, and this is right in the heart. Rooms are modern, and the breakfast was fantastic. There is a great Texas shuffle board table in the lounge with free coffee and sparkling water. We took the airport express bus, and the stop is 200 m away.
Gorgeous hotel in a great location. Our sea view room had the most incredible view through wide, panoramic window. We even saw the northern lights just from the hotel window on our first night!
Very comfortable room, under floor heating in the bathroom was lovely.
Delicious breakfast with lots of choices!
Nice and comfortable room despite the small size. The bed was very comfortable and the temperature of the room was ideal. Excellent breakfast with many options. Central location. The hotel staff was also great and very kind. The price was ok taking into consideration the prices in Norway.
the small house was perfect for a couple. the location was beutiful and we managed to see the northern lights every night of our stay. we had everything that we need in the house. the jacuzzi was a really nice experience both at night and during daytime.Esther was really nice to us.
We go to see the northern lights from the location. The host was really nice, he picked us up from the airport for a good price and he offered to pick us up on the Road when we went our for a walk. Everything was really clean! Thanks again john for everything
Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. Loved watching the Northern Lights from the terrace of the Skybar. Breakfast was amazing and bonus was on until 11am at the weekend....bonus
Location was great. Nice, clean, quiet and safe. It was everything I was looking for. The staff were kind and helpful. This hotel helped make my stay in tromso amazing
