Smoke free, academic town.
Smoke free, academic town. Must visit to SM city Mall, Molo church, Santa Barbara church near the airport. ILO Airport is also compact, clean and safe. Unlike other big cities in Philippines, the town is relatively clean, no street children, felt safe walking alone even at night (in busy areas) I also recommend a visit to Guimaras island and try Jeepney and tricycle rides, and also their sweet mango. The only thing I didn't like was the black exhaust gas from the busses.

Iloilo City is a nice city, but was very happy with dinner at the Fish Port. Hotel location is okay. However, we have some issues with the accommodation. we booked for 3 people but only 2 towels were provided, had to request for additional bed sheet. The water pressure in the shower was too low and got concerned with the water that came out as it was rusty/ dark. However after letting it flow for a few minutes the water cleared. Had to use the bucket and oversized cup, heated water with the electric kettle and warmed the water in the bucket, completed my very quick shower. LIke I was camping. Just made the most of what is available. Otherwise, it's like an adventure, your attitude of how to handle a situation with what is available to work with. With a little improvement, it's not a bad accommodation. We did not get a chance to go around the city, just wanted to meet up with some relatives.

I always like being in Iloilo City.
I always like being in Iloilo City. As a student in the 70s; I have seen so much progress and development, however, there are areas too where structural plans (overfly) were unfinished, thereby, causing more chaos and frustrations to vehicular travellers; e.g., in Pavia as an example. I love the Ilongo people of Iloilo; somehow they have a certain gentleness in them, respectful and always willing to help. May I also mention that my favourite are the people of Guimaras. They almost have a different culture from the rest of the places I have visited around our country for the same reasons as mentioned above but just a degree higher.

Modernized and yet still retains the history and the culture. Traffic is reasonable. Food selections and restaurants are impressive. People are still the same friendly, hospitable and always have a warm smile. The beaches are great. Proud to be an Ilonggo.

There is a lot to see in this friendly, clean and enchanting city - innovative museums, heritage houses, wonderful Spanish-era Churches, American colonial era period art deco architecture as well as yummie food and a number of good modern shopping malls and quality hotels. There is also an excellent river walk (Esplanade). I would recommend taking a tour, as the historical importance and beauty of this city can be easily missed as is spread out across on number of districts. Among the museums, the ILOMOCA modern art museum deserves special mention as it is very innovative and features top local artists.MarkHong Kong

The location was perfect, literally right next door to Festive Walk. The pool and gym was an added bonus. Zaida was very accommodating and professional. We even had a chef cook our breakfast on our first morning . Definitelt coming back to this gem in Iloilo city.
