It's been one of the best hotels we've been lately in Turkey. Buffet dinner and breakfast had enough variety and quite a high quality. The location is suggestive to say the least: among green hills, it was a fresh area even during the hottest summer on record. Very polite personnel, very enjoyable experience. Will be back.

- Palandoken Ski Centre has trails for skiers with any skill level, but is particularly great for beginners. The place gets a bit crowded only at weekends. The weather was also great during our week's stay in February.

- Excellent buffet dinners at 500 TL per person

A city with very many friendly and helpful persons whatever you do, and I felt safe all the time. I stayed only overnight twice in a week, but I will always remember how nice it was meeting other people in Erzerum as well as people on buses and trains. Yes, this goes for people in Turkey as well, way over my expectations

There isn't a lot of the old town and castle left, but what is there is worth a visit if you are going for the winter sports or for a walk in the mountains. Or even if you are there for work.
The local kebabs are excellent and there are plenty of good restaurants in the town.
Taxis are plentiful, I didn't see much in terms of public transport.

Interesting town, with major sights all located within short walking distance of each other.
A lot of cafés serving tea and snacks, but not many restaurants offering a good selection of dishes and especially difficult to find meat-free dishes. We did have one meal in a fascinating restaurant - Erzurum Evleri - located in a labyrinth of old houses and crammed with all sorts of antiques and paraphernalia associated with life in the old town. A bit like eating in a museum, but the food was good and it was an enjoyable and interesting experience.

A small city on the edge of Armenian highlands. Lots of mosques, couple of local history museums. Friendly people, low prices, very shallow snow cover. Got some architecture, cultural, hiking, shopping, gastronomic gems here.

Erzurum has a lovely atmosphere along the main strip and side streets. We enjoyed wandering around, visiting the museum and madrassa, having our boots shined, and looking at the shops. The setting is beautiful with the mountains around the town, and on sunset we enjoyed the view from the castle. We just had 24 hours in between trains, which was enough time to look around.
We were 12 persons traveling to Erzrum and we found this hotel appropriate. We had a really nice time there and it was so comfortable. There was a reception called Karim. He supported us in any way that he could. He knows the city really well so fell free to ask any question that comes to your mind! He also made the tea every hour for the whole hotel members when they came back tired they can benefit the best tea ever!
The staff were super-friendly and helpful. The ski-room being in the hotel is both super-practical for renting equipment and the fact that the lift/piste is right outside the door is really really hard to beat. Also, there's 2 cafes for apres-ski which were really what you'd find in the Alps. If you're looking to come in and do some skiing straight away, this is the place for you.
Provided a shuttle to and from the airport. Check in process was smooth.
Food was good, wide spread buffet, filling.
Location was great. The ski slope was good. The ski instructor was great.
The room was decent and comfortable. Decent facilities in the hotel.
Swimming pool is alright. Had to buy a swimming cap in order to be able to swim.
The staff in general are friendly.
I was going to stay 1 night here, but staff was so great and location was spot on so I decided to extend my visit for several days. I think I will be back to this marvelous hotel in following days. High five to Serap, Gülşah, Gürkan, Ceren and all other staff names I can't remember. Excellent stay. Also bellboy Mehmet is there to help you in anyway so don't forget to tip him.
This place offers great value for money. It is basic but comfortable and centrally located. The best thing about the hotel is the staff who were so friendly and welcoming. I arrived late and they immediately gave me çay and water and I was then able to eat a simple but delicious meal in the locanta which is next to the hotel reception. A very pleasant and authentic stay!
The best breakfast spread in Turkey. I was surprised to see the amount of options and throughout my 13 hotels and 14 days in Turkey, Grand Catalkaya has the best breakfast spread! Nice hotel, warm and clean sheets, there's a window, quiet area, just the elevator was a bit small for 2x adults with 4x gigantic luggage but other than that, everything was great!
First of all, people. Very hospitable and always ready to help. Wish them luck and success!
Also, location is very calm and has all Erzurum attractions within walking distance.
Breakfast is always fresh and in time.
Wi-Fi signal is good enough for those who work remotely.
Hot water was as good as needed.
Definitely will come back in a future.
The hotel is located in a lively neighborhood, lots of fun walking around. Overall it is a very decent hotel, but what really made it stand out for me were the people who work there. When I was already getting desperate to get to bus station on a big holiday when no taxi was coming, hotel manager took me to the bus station himself.
The room is clean with full toilet amenties incl toohbrush and shaver. Receptionist is helpful and each evening there are turkish desert for guests. Breakfast spread is good with nescafe coffee machine and juices. Location is central with good restaurants nearby, my choice to stay if in Erzurum
The location is really good. They helped me park the car on more or less a private spot in the taxi section right in front of the hotel. The reception staff was very friendly. The room was very good. Small but complete and good temperature
The hotel was a real surprise - even though most of the staff didn't speak a lot of English they went out of their way to communicate, the room was large and super comfortable. The buffet breakfast provided loads of variety.
Hotel is fair. However the price is adequate. We stayed only one night on the way to our trip. For one night it was ok. Shops are nearby. Staff is friendly. Cleanliness is also ok.
Breakfast is standard for Turkish hotels: fresh cucumbers and tomatoes, several types of cheese, local sausages, tea or instant coffee, cerals and fresh white bread.
