Situated beside Malioboro Shopping Centre in the heart of Yogyakarta, the 5-star Melia Hotel features a freeform outdoor pool and a spa. Spacious rooms provide cable TV channels. Big selection of Breakfast Buffet, everything you need to get your adventure started in Jakarta, absolutely brilliant. For dinner we were dining at the Indonesian Restaurant and it was absolutely delicious, maybe not rice with every dish as an option but it is common in Indonesia and important for your daily activities. The bar was brilliant, and the staff everywhere super friendly and helpful! Special shoutout to the bartender with the Glasses wearing the suspenders, he was super super kind we had great conversations and he even would have given me a recipe for the traditional tea in Java and spices for it, but I was unfortunately falling ill the last night and felt sorry to not being able to say goodbye as I only seldom see such kindness of people like here in Indonesia. Please hotel greet him from my end and thank him for everything.

The hotel is close to Malioboro street (obviously) and in front of the train station, which is a plus for getting to Prambanan or Malang. The staff is nice and helpful, the room is modern and large with a comfy bed. The soundproof is ok considering the country standards. The restaurant food was also good! Also free water refill in the hallway so it’s a nice gesture to avoid plastic bottles.

The hotel sits just off the Main Street and is located in the upper floors (so it is quiet!). The hotel has a wonderful pool and dining area on the 8th floor, and the rooms have views. The room amenities were all complementary (surprise!). The room was exceptionally clean (the whole hotel had a very zen and clean feel to it. The bed was soft! Something I missed in my travels across Indonesia. For the price, this hotel is a great value (IMHO).

Sodobni Hotel FortunaGrande Malioboro - formerly Hotel Dafam Fortuna se nahaja 3 min hoje od živahne ulice Malioboro. Ponuja zunanji bazen, spa in restavracijo. I like everything about the hotel, the breakfast, the friendliness of the staffs and the location was close to Malioboro street. We checked out early and they packed breakfast for us. Awesome.
