I had seen photos of Nalini's homestay online, but honestly did not think the rooms would have such an exceptional view as the photos depicted. Located right on Chennai's iconic Marina beach, the homestay offers clean, spacious rooms; well-maintained bathrooms; and great sea breeze as well as the aforementioned view. Anyone who's visited Chennai knows how important these amenities are in an otherwise hot and humid city. The apartment is well connected transport wise - by bus, auto-rickshaws or private transport. Its central location meant I could feel free and safe to return late, even using public transport. The beach was obviously an excellent bonus - for walks, and delicious food & snacks. Nalini and her family are gracious hosts, sharing their home with guests like us. A breakfast of kuska that Nalini cooked in particular was outstanding! I will definitely be staying at Nalini's place whenever I visit Chennai in the future as it is ideal for my work and leisure in the city.
