Renovated in 2018, the 4-star Hotel Alto Lido is located in Funchal’s prime area – Lido, 2.5 km from the city centre. Hotel is super. Breakfast was opulent. Service was excellent.

As part of the Vila Porto Mare resort, this hotel offers 4 restaurants, 6 bars and 5 swimming pools. Porto Mare features an extensive tropical garden on the Atlantic oceanfront. Great hotel, friendly staff and good food. Pools are are great and the gardens beautiful. Very nice experience provided.

Smješten na vrhu prirodnog poluotoka, Cliff Bay pruža panoramski pogled na Atlantski ocean i privatni pristup plaži. We loved the hotel and found the staff extremely helpful,friendly and professional-especially on reception,in the Il Gallo d’Oro restaurant at breakfast and our waiter in the Avista restaurant at dinner. Very high quality of food and drinks.The pools,spa and gardens are all excellent. Our upper floor sea-facing room was lovely,although another time we would choose a Funchal Bay view which would be stunning or stay at the Suites section of the hotel so as to access their infinity pool area.

Located in Funchal, within 600 metres of Gorgulho - Gavinas Beach and 2.9 km of Formosa Beach, Vila Vicência provides accommodation with a bar and free WiFi. Beautiful location and facilities, the indoor pool and jacuzzi were great for a rainy day. Staff is very friendly and accommodating and the room itself was huge with a private balcony. I would absolutely stay here again!

Located in the heart of Funchal’s Lido area, this 4-star hotel is a short walk from the city centre and boasts contemporary interiors and an outdoor pool with a terrace. The hotel was close to many restaurants and shops! Very close to the beach…. The pool was nice. The breakfast was amazing. Lots of selections to choose from. My room had a sea view which was a plus! The staff were very helpful and accommodating! Great hotel to stay in!

The hotel is lovely, the room is very spacious, I could enjoy the ocean view from my window. Moreover the location is very good, close to all essential places. The staff is very helpful and friendly! You feel very welcomed here!

There are a variety of amenity kits, soap, lotion & the shower has both a rain & a handheld shower head w/ shower gel, shampoo, & conditioner. BALCONY: spacious with a BEAUTIFUL sea view. Perfect for evening drinks/AM Coffee. Bed is comfortable & large. LOCATION: Hotel Zone with a 15-minute walk into Old Towne Funchal. Easy access to bus stops. Along the sea walking paths & lots of restaurants, bars, grocery stores around it. PARKING: indoor & outdoor parking. LOBBY: clean, compact, stylish, & playful. ROOFTOP PATIO & BAR: AMAZING! Tons of seating options, heaters & beautiful vast views. EXCELLENT to watch the New Years’ Eve Fireworks from! Would HIGHLY recommend! LOUNGE & RESTAURNT: great for anytime drinks or pre-dinner drinks & next to it is the restaurant, which is open, bright & hosts a solid variety of food for breakfast (both hot & cold) 3 great coffee machines & complimentary sparkling wine for breakfast. There is a seated section outside to eat as well. There is a Falconer with a Hawk/Falcon in the mornings (to chase pigeons away) so COOL. CHRISTMAS DINNER: I have friends that said it was OUTSTANDING. POOL: Looks welcoming & decently sized with lounge chairs. WONDERFUL STAFF: Tatyana, Christine, the GM, 2 bartenders were EXCEPTIONAL. All were friendly, professional, willing to assist & went above & beyond to make the guests welcomed & warm over the holidays. They worked extremely hard during the holidays & took COVID seriously & in stride. HOTEL: I felt safe throughout my stay as a solo female traveller. I will stay here again without question.
