The staff were lovely, the location was great and the beds were super comfy. The shower was hot and powerful. We didn't use the little gym downstairs but we were able to refill our water bottle from inside. Breakfast was very nice - loved the Caju bowl in particular. The only small criticism was our toilet door didn't stay shut - it used to swing open

Oferind o piscină în aer liber și un centru spa, Castanheiro Boutique Hotel este situat în Funchal, la 500 de metri de Marina do Funchal. We loved everything about this hotel! From the arrival where we were greeted with champagne to the wonderful food and bars offered within the hotel to the OUTSTANDING spa staff, we could not have had a better trip. We visited during a 3 day storm so we had plenty of time to use all of the hotel amenities and could not recommend them more. The rooms were spacious, had balconies (for those rare, clear moments) and had modern, clean bathrooms with luxurious showers. While I did not eat at the restaurant for dinner, 6 of our other friends did and absolutely raved about the food. The quality and value, coupled with excellent staff made for an amazing trip. Only a 5-minute walk from so many things to do in Old town and a 10-minute cab ride to the more commercialized, shopping area of town. We would only stay at the Castanheiro hotel again if we return.

Orquidea are o terasă foarte mare pe acoperiș, cu vedere la Funchal și Oceanul Atlantic. Este amplasat la înălțime și la mai puțin de 200 de metri de Muzeul Vinului și Grădinile Tropicale Monte... The hotel location was great, all within walking distance. The room was very clean. Front desk was 24 hours. People at the front desks were nice and efficient. We left our luggage on the check out day for a day trip then came back to pick it up. It was very convinent. Also the included breakfast was very nice. It ranged from cold to warm items, drinks (coffe and juices) and fruits.

We got a free upgrade of the room because we mentioned we are on honeymoon! it was such a great surprise!!!! The location is perfect for traveling. the view is stunning. The stuff is very helpful.

An absolutely beautiful hotel that feels very luxurious. The rooms are huge, most have a balcony overlooking the incredible tropical gardens or the bar area - but there is never any noise. Very peaceful. The staff are just fantastic - so friendly and genuinely nice. Breakkfast is great - both cooked and buffet

Set in a historic building of central Funchal, Monte Carlo features a large elevated terrace and roof-top pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is located only 800 metres from the Funchal Marina. I love the service! The girls on desk is lovely. One is from madeira… the others is from Colombia! Amazing service! The last guy I don’t like the style is not friendly
