Featuring a restaurant and a bar, Hotel Cajú is set in Funchal, less than 1 km from Almirante Reis Beach and a 6-minute walk from Marina do Funchal. I really couldn't fault this hotel. The staff were lovely, the location was great and the beds were super comfy. The shower was hot and powerful. We didn't use the little gym downstairs but we were able to refill our water bottle from inside. Breakfast was very nice - loved the Caju bowl in particular. The only small criticism was our toilet door didn't stay shut - it used to swing open

We loved everything about this hotel! From the arrival where we were greeted with champagne to the wonderful food and bars offered within the hotel to the OUTSTANDING spa staff, we could not have had a better trip. We visited during a 3 day storm so we had plenty of time to use all of the hotel amenities and could not recommend them more. The rooms were spacious, had balconies (for those rare, clear moments) and had modern, clean bathrooms with luxurious showers. While I did not eat at the restaurant for dinner, 6 of our other friends did and absolutely raved about the food. The quality and value, coupled with excellent staff made for an amazing trip. Only a 5-minute walk from so many things to do in Old town and a 10-minute cab ride to the more commercialized, shopping area of town. We would only stay at the Castanheiro hotel again if we return.

Orquidea opens out on to an extra-large roof-top terrace, overlooking Funchal and the Atlantic Ocean. This is a great-value hotel, simple and a little old and worn (call is "classic"!), but comfortable; the location is perfect; the staff was very friendly and helpful (Ronnie was the best!); it was very cheap, the breakfast was decent with a beautiful view. Overall, we got more than we expected and more than we paid for. Thank you!

We got a free upgrade of the room because we mentioned we are on honeymoon! it was such a great surprise!!!! The location is perfect for traveling. the view is stunning. The stuff is very helpful.

Makikita sa luntiang, ni-landscape na hardin, nagtatampok ang 5-star Quintinha São João ng spa at mga indoor at outdoor heated swimming pool. An absolutely beautiful hotel that feels very luxurious. The rooms are huge, most have a balcony overlooking the incredible tropical gardens or the bar area - but there is never any noise. Very peaceful. The staff are just fantastic - so friendly and genuinely nice. Breakkfast is great - both cooked and buffet

Set in a historic building of central Funchal, Monte Carlo features a large elevated terrace and roof-top pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is located only 800 metres from the Funchal Marina. I love the service! The girls on desk is lovely. One is from madeira… the others is from Colombia! Amazing service! The last guy I don’t like the style is not friendly

Great location easy to get in and out of with parking on site. Quiet street to be able to rest after long days of hiking. Nice terrace to relax with a book.

Ideally set in the Sao Pedro district of Funchal, Urban Paradise by Madeira Sun Travel is located 1.1 km from Marina do Funchal, 13 km from Girao Cape and 39 km from Santana's traditional houses. The location was ideal, very easy to get to the heart of the city and great service, Pedro met us at the place and was very kind and helpful, sharing excellent food suggestions with us and other advice regarding travel and things to do in Funchal. The place was also very clean and fully equipped
