Everything was excellent: comfy and spacious room (large room on the 1st floor, not the ground floor), good bed and pillows, nice view at the garden, very quite, tasty breakfasts, very nice and friendly staff. The isolation could be better, but as it is an old building, the guests are expected to moderate the noise. So this place is excellent for couples looking for a relaxing vacation. The place was as described. The cleanness and comfort of the house was exceptional. The Cases De Pedra located nicely in the mountain surrounded by lush greens. It is private and quite. Loved the location. The hosts are very nice people. They take pride and joy in what they do. You would feel that in everything that place to offer. Loved their two dogs. Both are very beautiful and friendly. We loved playing and spend time with them. We loved staying in the Cases De Pedra so much, we are coming back again in April 2023 to stay here and to explore the beautiful Ireland of Madeira further.

We really liked the quiet location just outside of Funchal. The view from the porch is stunning. You get a lot of bang for your buck in terms of space and facilities. The WIFI worked reliably and fast, because it's a regular home setup and not some flaky hotel WIFI. The kitchen is functional, well-equipped and provides you with some basics such as salt, olive oil and vinegar. Driving in Funchal is challenging. With its location outside of the city, this property is a great starting point for hikes as you don't have to drive into and out of the city every day. You can stock up on groceries once and then live comfortably without having to visit the city all the time. We loved having breakfast and dinner on the porch every day. There's even a fireplace for barbecuing. We have family in Madeira and had them over for a BBQ one night, which we all enjoyed. In the morning, lizards will be peeking out of the stone wall when the first sun rays start heating it up. During dusk and dawn you can sometimes see rabbits hopping around if you're quiet enough. The process of checking in and out worked flawlessly. You receive automated e-mails or SMS with the required information, such as the code for the keybox, and can check in without having to talk to someone. The good outweighs the bad and we look back fondly at our vacation, and we would book this property again if the cleanliness was improved.

The location was very fantastic, but we think it requires a car. You are a part of nature. Surrounded by plants and flowers and a river. A bit like in the jungle. We are not usually into breakfast, but Carlos's breakfast was fabulous. We loved sitting in his kitchen and eating delicacies and hearing stories. His scrambled eggs were the best ever. Carlos an Leonor were very attentive to what you liked and there was always something new every day. Everything is not perfect, but it becomes when you have met Carlos and Elonor. They are so lovely people and they will do everything to make you feel good and at home. Thanks for making our visit so special :)
