This homestay is unique in many forms: the owner Steven contacted me a few days before my arrival to answer all my questions, which was a solo female traveller very helpful. He organised me a taxi and boat from Manado to come to Bunaken and back. Through this i could catch directly my flight. Steven and Misi were always helping me with any situation coming up and I had the feeling I could always ask them anything (i had a difficult situation in the middle). The prices were always transparent and fair. They also helped me to find a very good diving school and helped me planning my snorkeling trips (they have a lot of contacts). Both are very kind, warm and open. They even invited me to celebrate New Years Eve with them and their friends. On my last night we had a small farewell party to which Steven invited some friends over to play music! The room is very clean and comfortable. In the whole house I always had perfect and fast Wifi (didn't expect it on an Island:)). The room had a fan and as an add-on AC. The food is cooked fresh, delicious and a lot. Dietary requests are taken serious (as for me i dont like fish and love Tempeh :)). I also rented a Scooter from them which had a very high quality! I am super happy and grateful I stayed at El Homestay and I am already planning to come back:). I honestly fell in love with this family. If you want to have homestay which feels like home and get to know the village of Bunaken and the culture you should definetely stay at El Homestay!

FRANGKY HOMESTAY is set in Manado and offers a garden and a shared lounge. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, a shared kitchen and currency exchange for guests. It was a perfect stay! We stayed there for 4 nights and it was one of the best places we have been. It's a real island experience. You can go diving or snorkeling everyday. Frangky also offers snorkeling and dolphin tours which we did and it was amazing! We had all inclusive which was totally worth it because it tasted wonderful! The rooms are simple but really nice and comfortable. For 3€ more you can get a room with an Aircon if you need, otherwise the fan is also working quite good. Frangky also helped us to organise the trip to Gorontalo from Manado which worked out really good. All the people there are really nice and you feel welcomed from the first second. I can only recommend to stay there!

Towels and bed linen are available in the homestay. Such a great experience. The lodge is located very close to the beach where the boat drops you off. The rooms are very comfy and have AC. Be prepared for a bucket shower! Dion is very friendly and helpful, the diving is very good value and the crew are kind and very good at their jobs. The best part for us was the food!! All three meals are included and the home cooking is really incredible and delicious, they should.open a restaurant! We miss it already Overall we highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again

Facing the seafront in Bunaken, Sunset Guest House & Bar has a private beach area and a bar. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. The guest house features sea views, a terrace, a 24-hour front desk, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. Comfortable bedroom with shared bathroom. There is a fan in the room which provided us with enough comfort to sleep without being too hot. The hosts Yoke and Helmi are a lovely couple who arranged snorkeling trips for us and gave great advice about where to visit on the island. Helmi also sourced us a GoPro for a snorkeling trip. The dining area is set up so guests eat together which was a great way for us to socialise. The food was incredible and possibly the best we have eaten in 5 months of traveling. Every lunch and dinner was different and garnished with fresh vegetables and herbs. The portion sizes were huge which was nice after days out exploring the local reefs. The guesthouse is located overlooking the beach in the main village. Great for watching the sunset and hearing the sea at night. Overall this has been our favourite guesthouse so far in Asia!

Novita Homestay is a 3-star property situated in Bunaken, facing the sea. The property has sea and mountain views. The accommodation features free WiFi throughout the property, as well as a terrace and a family-friendly restaurant. My stay at Novita was incredible. I felt like part of a family. The food is excellent and the family is adorable. The accommodation is very comfortable and the value for money unbeatable. I only want to come back to Bunaken to see them! The girls are very nice too. We went snorkeling together. Thanks a lot. I recommend 100%.

Car hire is available at this homestay and the area is popular for hiking. Manado is 36 km from Tangkoko Ranger Homestay, while Bunaken is 46 km from the property. Homestay and kitchen simple but adequate. We had exceptional morning and evening tours! The guide (owner's brother) is incredible in sighting animals. The owner organized a car to take us back to Manado. We warmly recommend the place, everything in one place. Do not hesitate to come!
