We stayed here for one night before our jungle trek. We booked our Medan airport to Bukit Lawang transport and the jungle trek with them. From the time of booking till we left the place; Brian and his team were extremely helpful. Sarah cooked delicious dinner for the night. The place is value for money and they even provide good breakfast. Our tour guide for the forest trek was Rosyid & his assistant Theo. They were absolutely amazing and the best throughout. I could complete my trek on the last day because of their motivation throughout. We can't recommend them enough. The food that they served during trek was also really good. Rosyid and Theo went out of their way to help a random guy during the trek who was unwell and made sure to give him the medicines and took extremely good care of him till he got better and help arrived. It didn't matter to him if the guy was part of our group or no and that shows how professional and caring they are. Magic tricks by Rosyid at the campsite was very entertaining. There was also Manto who cooked extremely delicious dinner and breakfast for us and helped with the river tubing. Would definitely recommend staying at Sumatra Thomas Leaf Monkey Guesthouse in Bukit Lawang.

The view padang, Amazing view, food, drink, sleep, transport, 8 mins Mentawai fast ferry ligger i Padang, 14 minuters promenad från Air Manis strand, och erbjuder boende med en trädgård, gratis privat... Rob was a great host making sure that I had everything I needed for my very short stay in Padang. The guest house is clean and spacious and the view is amazing.

Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa ligger i Bukit Lawang och har en trädgård, en terrass, en restaurang och en bar. Boendet erbjuder rumsservice och gratis WiFi. Welcoming, friendly, knowledgable and fun! We all felt relaxed and at home.

SeaGate Bungalows ligger precis stranden i Sabang och har en trädgård och en egen strand. Det finns en terrass och gäster har tillgång till gratis WiFi och gratis privat parkering. The Place was amazing. Great value for money. The room has a sea view, it is very quiet, comfortable, clean and you have a fridge, desk and drinking water in the room. Wifi works well and I could work and take online meetings with no problem. The food prepared at the restaurant is some of the best I have eaten in Indonesia. Because of Ramadan food options needed to be arranged in advance but the host cooked for us during lunch also because on the island there would have been very limited options otherwise. The best thing is the reef right in front of the property that is basically your backyard. Beautiful snorkeling you can stay in the water for hours. They arranged for us a pick up and drop off at the ferry port and also a scooter rental at a reasonable price.

Juma cottages ligger i Tuk Tuk och erbjuder boende med trädgård, terrass och restaurang. På Juma cottages är alla rum utrustade med balkong. Lake access and beautiful view from the garden as well as the room - I think The most beautiful out of all The accomodation I’ve seen while walking around Tuk Tuk Village. New and very clean apartaments. Great banana pancaces for breakfast:) Very warm and helpful owners- helped organize a guide and transport around The lake as well as futher trip.

Bua Guest House ligger i Medan, 9,3 km från Great Mosque, och erbjuder boende med en trädgård, gratis privat parkering, en gemensam lounge och en terrass. Lovely place, perfect for travellers stopping by on the way to e.g. Bukit Lawang or Lake Toba (you can arrange transport here which makes it all very easy). Lovely owners and staff. I stayed here twice on my trip and met interesting and friendly fellow travellers both times - it's that kind of place. Rooms are simple but pleasant, clean and comfortable, with air conditioning. The honesty fridge with drinks, snacks and, most importantly, natural insect repellent, is a great idea. The location is not far from the city centre (with a vehicle) but has more of a rural village feel, which is very pleasant. It offers outstanding value for money and I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Medan.

Kaesa Homestay ligger i Berastagi, 25 km från Mount Sinabung, och erbjuder boende med tillgång till en trädgård med en terrass. I liked everything about this place, the room was great, comfortable bed, hot shower and great breakfast with a sweet surprise everyday - but what I liked the most is Kaesa and his lovely family, they made me feel at home, helped me with everything I needed and made my trip started in best way possible.

Sumatra Cheeky Monkeys ligger i Bukit Lawang och har en trädgård, en gemensam lounge, en terrass och en restaurang. Bland de olika faciliteterna på detta boende finns en bar och grillmöjligheter. The owner was so kind. Let me stay in a slightly more expensive room inside without paying the difference and got a ride back to the guesthouse from the city center at night. I wasn’t there for long but definitely felt it was a good deal for the price. It is pretty far from the center of butik lawang. You can walk it in 20min or get a tuktuk for 30rp. The walk is nice. You get to see another side to the area.

Smiley's Homestay ligger i Berastagi och erbjuder boende inom 24 km från Mount Sinabung. Det finns gratis WiFi i alla utrymmen. Väldigt härliga värdar som visade runt mig i området och erbjöd god frukost på morgonen. Sen var även sängarna väldigt bekväma och man bodde nära centrala Berastagi.

Fun Family Guest House n Jungle Tour ligger i Bukit Lawang. Detta pensionat med 2 stjärnor har ett gemensamt kök och bagageförvaring. Gästerna kan njuta av utsikten över floden. If you want to take a tour in the jungle this is the company to go with. The room is value for money and Putra with his family will help you with everything you need + more. I got sick before the trek and got a lot of support from the staff and the trek was easy to reschedule. The tour was the best jungle experience I've had this far, will be back for sure.
