Although the Hostal really exceeded my expectations in terms of value for the price, I'm really writing this review to let others know that there is a herpetologist named Axel who is currently working with the hotel and it may be possible to go with him to visit the Jungle for the night at a nearby 200 hectare reserve that is owned by the owner of Hostal Tena Naui. He truly loves herpetology and it was a unique and special opportunity to go with someone like this who knows the reserve so well in order to look for animals at night. I would recommend anyone who is interested in having such an experience contact the Hostal to see if he is still in the area. It will be a much less expensive and much more thorough experience than going with one of the major tour operators in town. The cabin on the reserve where you would stay is very simple, but the mattress was quite comfy. He speaks fluent French, Spanish, and English. Thank you Axel!
