The hostel was very clean and had updated facilities. Guests respect quiet hours. Staff is very attentive and kind. Room size was comfortable. Property has spacious parking.

Situated in Portree, Isle of Skye region, Portree Independent Hostel is located 36 km from Dunvegan Castle. Excellent location. There is just few hours with open reception. If you arrive there late in the night it will not be possible to go inside. I was very thankful that the staff waited for me one hour after the last check in time.

Facing the seafront in Kyleakin, Skye Backpackers features barbecue facilities. Among the various facilities are a garden and a shared lounge. Everything was neat and tidy, especially the kitchen. The bed was not as comfy as the one I had last year at Pitlochry Backpackers - this is relevant because they are part of the same organization. Did appreciate having two pillows though as at Pit. The breakfast was a good value at 3.50 sterling
