Finlay Jack's Backpackers is one of my favourite hostels ever. The common areas, such as the inner courtyard garden, are very inviting and adapted to facilitate socialising and getting to know your fellow travellers. A very nice detail is that already upon your arrival your name is hand-written on a little blackboard next to your bed, which makes you feel even more welcome and which makes the contact with your room mates easier. The staff are friendly and helpful, for example to book some activity in Taupo.

Tongariro River Retreat se encuentra en Turangi, a 48 km de Monte​ Ruapehu, y ofrece alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis, salón de uso común y terraza. Ian is an amazing host. He is very friendly and creates a great atmoshpere in his Retreat. He gives great tips of things to do in the area and he helps people to adjust their plans to the weather conditions. The common areas of the retreat are great. The room was clean and comfortable. Wifi was great.

Haka Lodge Taupo features free unlimited WiFi and stunning views of Lake Taupo. La ubicación es excelente, las vistas desde el primer piso del hostel que es un lugar abierto para compartir fue hermosa. Y la limpieza de todo el Hostel fue excelente a todo momento.

El Based by the Lake ofrece alojamiento en el centro de Taupo, a pocos minutos del lago. I enjoyed the location, the dorm, view from there, facilities. All was great
