Honestly, the best hostel I've ever stayed at! The owners were the most welcoming, loving and caring people. They made sure to talk to everyone, they even remembered the names of every single person who stayed there at the moment. The whole place was super clean and well kept. Kitchen had everything you need for cooking. The living room is amazing to hang out, watch tv, play games or get to know the other guests (and make some new friends!). Would highly recommend staying there. You would not be disappointed!

Room was clean and nice. Big double bed and one single bed. Really nice kitchen with all you need to prepare your food. A lot of fridges to storw your food. Shuttle bus for Tongariro Alpine crossing stops hear. Free parking and you can stay here during your hike across Tongariro and take shower after you will come in shared bathroom. So nice staff in here and very helpful and friendly. 10/10

Haka Lodge Taupo features free unlimited WiFi and stunning views of Lake Taupo. Second time I’ve stayed. Clean, good price, kitchen has everything you need , lounge room is cute as well

Based by the Lake offers accommodation centrally located in Taupo, just minutes from the lake. Location was close to the lake, the food, the supermarket, everything. Amenities (kitchen and laundry) were clean and well thought out. Enjoyed the girls only dorm with the extra perk of a private balcony.
