Huge rooms with great facilities, white tablecloth restaurant downstairs. Massive grounds to wander around. In the evenings we availed ourselves of the sauna facilities followed by a spa (onsite shower first though). Its all outside surrounded by nature and quite private. Its not just quiet, its peaceful. The staff are engaging, friendly, spoke great English (making up for our poor French). Remarkbly good value. We felt very special , what a great way to finish up our 3 weeks in France.

La Maison de Mathilde is set in Bayeux, 100 metres from Baron Gerard Museum and 200 metres from Museum of the Bayeux Tapestry. The room was lovely and clean. For breakfast, there was coffee, juice, breads, yogurts, and American offerings like bacon and eggs. The location is near the cathedral, tour pick-ups, and many restaurants. We walked from the train station but taxis are available. Bayeux is a must-see. Don't miss the famous tapestry.

We had a room on the top floor which was one of the nicest I’ve ever stayed in. Very nice and helpful staff. Everything was perfect. Just a short walk to the center of the city with plenty of restaurants.
