Set in Hatfield and with Hatfield House reachable within 3.3 km, The Comet London Hatfield offers express check-in and check-out, non-smoking rooms, a restaurant, free WiFi and a bar. The room was clean and comfortable and very quiet despite its location on a busy road. The breakfast was very good, freshly cooked and lots of choice. We had dinner in the restaurant which was also good. I cannot fault the staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful and ready to go the extra mile to make our stay special. Highly recommended and would definitely stay here again.

Staff, cleanliness, service. Young Billie on reception is the most patient and professional youngster I have come across on my travels.

This splendid manor house is set in 35 acres of wooded parkland and offers modern facilities in historic surroundings. The property boasts an indoor pool and a gymnasium. The staff from the reception through to the restaurant and bar were all exceptionally friendly, polite, and attentive providing a genuine sense of being warmly welcomed as a guest, rather than a customer. Had a lovely dinner in the restaurant, food was excellent. Surrounded by tall trees and expansive grounds to wander, birds everywhere (including some fabulous and very friendly peacocks).

Hotel Cromwell Stevenage was once a farm house and home to John Thurloe, secretary to Oliver Cromwell. The property is close to the A1(M) and just 10 minutes’ drive from Knebworth Park. Location is very central, staff were helpful and friendly, decor was beautiful, everything was clean and fresh and the bed was extremely comfortable
