Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Mitsubikiya features accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. The air-conditioned accommodation is 800 metres from Matsumoto Station. Had to check in early which wasn't a problem. The two staff were great - they speak English quite well, and were very patient with our very poor Japanese. Dinner + Breakfast is really good (but you do need to let them know you would like to have dinner when you are making your booking).

Located in Fujikawaguchiko and only 1.5 km from Lake Kawaguchi, Ryokan Fuji Heights provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. A hot tub is available for guests. The host was very kind. He explained to us about the place and then served us tea and cookies in the room. A traditional Japanese hospitality experience exactly as we wanted. Excellent location near 2 restaurants that we really enjoyed.

Amazing facilities - big spacious room, very clean. The onsen is great with natural spring water, very clean and tidy, if a bit small but it’s no issue.

Set in Takasaki, 28 km from Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park, Ryutakuzenji 宿坊 offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a garden and a bar. This is an amazing place. Best stay during our trip to Japan. The host is super friendly. Communication prior to arrival was very helpful. We traveled by public transport, so a pick-up from the nearest bus stop was arranged. The dinner and breakfast were delicious.
