I couldn't think of a more perfect place to stay in Heraklion, particularly for a shorter stay. Incredibly helpful people at the hotel! Location is a few minutes away from the old town and very convenient if you are staying at Chania. Rooms were also nice and air conditioned. There is a municipality car park you can use if you let the hotel know for a minimal fee.
