Molly was very welcoming, even though she didn't need to invite me to the Suite, (there was a glitch in the Booking website that made it difficult to complete instructions on which suite I was staying in). She came down to show me around and explain the area and facility. Lovely, comfortable suite, a very short walk to a quite little cove where I went to relax and clear the road trip off my mind. Peaceful, quiet, even though it was a family home, I didn't notice that at all. I slept like a baby in the very comfortable bed and LOVED the local toiletries. I wish I could have stayed longer! Thank you Molly! 'You made my stay!' I highly recommend Sounds of the Sea!

Closeness to town, walkability. Even though it was a walkup, suite was easy to get to. Liked the keypad access. Great water pressure. The two recliners and the electric fireplace in the room added a nice touch of homestyle comfort after a day off walking. Check-in was easy, as was checkout. No keys to hand in. Also, the property is nicer than it appears in the pic that shows in Google.

Ukee is a great little town.
Ukee is a great little town. Although we bought a piece of art there, it offers much wilderness than shopping opportunities.
In addition to its unpretentious charm, Ukee offers a more pocket-friendly experience than its neighbour, Tofino, in our experience (although everything is more expensive here than the rest of Vancouver Island.)
However, both places have incredible beaches and forests, and bookend the National Park with a trail between the two towns.
Just be warned that the last part of the highway is an adventure before you decide to turn left to go to Ukee or right to go to Tofino.
I loved driving it with my "Mario Andretti" mindset, which wasn't that pleasant for my husband, LOL.
It's windy, narrow, and bumpy in parts, and if you have a slow poke in front of you (which we had on the way back), it can be incredibly frustrating.

I loved Ucluelet a whole lot more than Tofino, it isn't as touristy and "plastic", like the difference between Banff and Jasper, I always prefer the place closer to nature. Maybe doesn't have all the sandy beaches, but one can easily drive to it. I'd love it if the information about the length of the walks to beaches etc. were more clear, even on the hike, like where we are now and how long to go etc. Beauty in abundance, I loved every minute of it, I remembered it from 10 years ago and it was even better now. I'd love to come back for more and be able to just sit and listen to the ocean. Please, please don't let it become Tofino where you can't enjoy what rightfully belongs to the public without paying more than you can afford! I love Ucluelet! <3

Ukee is great place to visit any time of the year.
Ukee is great place to visit any time of the year. The beaches are more rugged than Tofino which makes for dramatic storm watching on windy days. There are some good restaurants and a grocery store, liquor store etc. If you're looking for raging night life, this is not the place. If you're into being outside, it's great. There are tons of trails, beaches and lookouts to explore.

Loved the proximity to the ocean.
Loved the proximity to the ocean. Great hiking trails in the area and quite a few good restaurants. Enjoyed the low key, unpretentious vibe. We aren’t surfers but it looks like a fantastic place to surf.

Black Rock Resort was an amazing boutique hotel to visit.
Black Rock Resort was an amazing boutique hotel to visit. Their restaurant was so good I ate there 3 times!
Drift Spa at the resort swept me away with four hours of endless Thalassotherapy. They use the cleanest, best skincare on the planet, Seaflora Skincare. Loved my treatments and left stocked up on Seaflora.
Pluvio Restaurant was an experience of its own. We spent 3.5hrs slow food feasting. Peach salmon, hum dogs, pork belly and so many tasty artistic plates that gave us food babies! The chef is truly an artist the way he presents his flavour creations. At one point he gave us these deep fried tomato slice shaped pastry with salmon roe and a creamy sauce… perfect sweet n savory we talked about it for hours!
Pacific Trail was nice, South Beach, Wyat Point… it was all a really nice experience. Heartwood Cafe traditional Benny used real pea meal bacon, which no one out west seems to know about - but that’s how u make a real eggs Benny. Ukee has it all.
We stayed in the Shamrock Room. It was quiet, clean and well maintained. Alice is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The location just outside of Ucluelet was convenient and served us well for travelling between Uke and Tofino. Breakfast was ample and delicious. The bed was comfortable and each room has a private bathroom. The sitting area is bright and spacious and offered a variety of teas and a Keurig coffee maker which was much appreciated after a long day of adventure. For my first stay in a Bed and Breakfast it was a hit!
It's a really nice secluded camping area way off road. It's calm and peaceful and the owner is super cool.
If you're looking for a good outdoor experience, then this is it.
Keep in mind, this is not a luxury experience. It's basically camping in a cabin with a heater. Don't expect hotel luxuries like electricity, wi fi or running water. These cabins were literally built from scratch by the owner, so you will have a roof over your head and a mattress.
We came there for the first two days of our honeymoon and it was an amazing stay that we will remember forever. The views are gorgeous right when you walk in the house, and in the room. The (Atlantis)room was beautiful and cozy. You wake up and can see the ocean right from your bed. The breakfast delivered was delicious. The hosts were very kind and great to visit with. We would 100% stay there again if we come back to Ucluelet.
The review title sums it all up! In addition, the spot in Ucluelet by the harbour is gorgeous, and of course all the spectacular outdoor scenery in Ukee, Tofino and in between is just stunning! Don’t hesitate to book this place - it’s well-stocked in terms of kitchen and has all the comforts of home you could want, and then some! Very comfy beds and pillows. Enjoy your stay!
Black Rock Oceanfront Resort is a perfect place to stay in Ucluelet! One-Bedroom Lodge Suite(Partial View) was very pleasant, clean and spacious with complete kitchenette. I am a big fan of soak tub. it was incredibly comfortable. People working at the reception are very kind and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
We loved our stay (1st time) at the Black Rock. Being Pet friendly was awesome and reasonably priced. The live entertainment was great Saturday night and we experienced two amazing meals in the main restaurant Currents. Our view was listed as "Partial", but it was a beautiful full view of the ocean and had a huge balcony.
Teo was a great host..Gave us a wonderful recommendation for dinner and we ended up going there for 2 evening meals and a breakfast! The room was fantastic overlooking Ucluelet harbor with a fantastic balcony and also a nice patio in front.
We had a very nice stay at Sounds of the Sea. Our room was is a great location - a private neighborhood of Ucluelet with a short walking distance to the beach. Molly and CJ were friendly, and we enjoyed meeting their family.
Very clean room. A great big bathtub but it was right beside a window that people walk by. The view from the room was a soccer field. The hotel is located down an industrial street and not super beautiful but it was good.
Very convenient location for accessing Pacific Rim Park Reserve. Price is OK considering the skyrocketing prices from Ucluelet to Tofino. Front desk was helpful and friendly. Room and bed were comfortable.
Beautiful location. Beautiful clean rooms.

It is located in a very quiet area of Ucluelet, surrounded by water. On a sunny day, you'll have an amazing view on the harbor and can hear sea lions barking.
