The location was amazing, so close to the Skogafoss waterfall. Our rooms were comfortable and well stocked with clean towels and a gown incase we wanted to use the hot tub.
The beds were very comfortable.
It’s a self check in hotel and the key code access worked smoothly for the outer door but only one of our rooms. We called Hotel Skogafoss (as instructed) and the staff answered the phone promptly and solved the problem easily.
Complimentary hot drinks were available in the reception are which was a very welcome touch.
Breakfast was a good selection and the staff helpful, cooking more eggs and bacon on request as guests arrived to eat. There was homemade bread.
We ate a good dinner at the nearby Hotel Skogafoss.

Skogafoss is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world, impressively large, and if there is even a little bit of sunshine, there will be a rain bow in front of the falls. The town of Skogar includes a noteworthy folk history museum.

Great place to stop at while driving to Vik!
Great place to stop at while driving to Vik! There are many things to see and do and endless hiking paths to follow. A few waterfalls around including Kvernufoss, which was amazingly hidden, but very near the Skogar Museum. The museum offers a variety of exhibits on history of the area ( outside part including turf houses), but also technical part - really amazing and great thing to do when the weather is not promising. We stayed at hotel Skogafoss and we had a real blast there! Highly recommended due to facilities and service alike. There is a Eyjafjallajökull visitor centre, right below the volcano- unfortunately closed during winter season. We drove and walked to Seljavallalaug hot spring natural pool, where you can swim, however water is quite cold. The surroundings is beautiful though. Further south you can drive towards Dyrhólaey and Reynisfjara/Black beach. We loved Skogar area very much and had amazing time at different spots around.

The waterfall is the highlight, and if you have time, you should walk a bit further on the trail above it. It’s a beautiful hike.
The folk museum is amazing, sounds corny, but it’s really good. It has an excellent cafe too.
Area is close to Vik and the black sand beaches.
The bistro at hotel Skogafoss is consistent and the food is good and reasonably priced for Iceland.
Sadly the ‘secret’ waterfall now has a highway trodden too it and lots of erosion on site as people have climbed all over the grass outposts and killed all the vegetation.
Nice reception area with helpful staff. Free hot drink facilities in reception.
Rooms were bigger than expected with a wet room shower. Bed was comfy.
Had the icelandic lamb for dinner in their restaurant which was delicious, cost £26 but I think that's good for Iceland!
Quiet location and plenty of parking.
Breakfast was basic but adequate - cereal, dried fruits, jam, peanut butter, cream cheese, cold cuts, boiled egg salad, breads, fresh fruit, juices & hot drinks.
Fine for 1 night.
Located under the dramatic waterfall, near the Skogar Museum, and only about 10-20 miles from the beaches at Vik, Hotel Skoga is clean, efficient and well located. The morning staff are polite, hospitable, and helpful. They speak English fluently as well as Polish and maybe other languages. The breakfast was plentiful, the hot tub clean and a sauna is available. The hotel check-ibis self service and easy to use. The hot coffee/water dispenser is marvelous, too! We loved our stay.
Our whole experience at the hotel was brilliant. Staff were excellent and willing to help with any queries - they even alert you if the Northern Lights are appearing during the night :) - restaurant had lovely food for both breakfast and dinner with a good bar. Bedroom and bathroom were clean and spacious - bed was comfy with the window view of the mountains amazing. Visiting the beach (about a 20 min walk away) was a nice added bonus.
One of our favorite places on our trip! Wonderful and very helpful staff. Beautifully modern and chic lobby, restaurant, and breakfast area. Fantastic breakfast selection. Huge bathrooms. Unbeatable location right near the waterfall, with a great view of the falls during a delicious dinner. Comfortable beds and lots of storage in the rooms.
Super friendly staff and clean bright accomodations. Loved the jacuzzi and sauna!! Super close to the Skogafoss waterfall. Included breakfast was perfect and coffee strong. We stayed here an extra night because the location was great! Also they have a ping pong table, elliptical machines, spinning bikes and a treadmill.
Perfect location for Ring Road and Skogafoss waterfall.
Rather basic accommodation but it had all we needed for a nights' stop-over. A big plus was that there was a quite good restaurant so that we didn't have to go 'dinner-hunting' in the evening. Very nice green surroundings and very close to the waterfall.
check in was very efficient; dinner was top quality with good service; room was clean; coffee/tea maker in entrance hall quite handy; breakfast was good; location and view from room amazing. Superb location for anyone visiting south Iceland; lots of parking; hotel very quite - no traffic or other noise.
Place is super clean and very well kept. Kitchen very equiped. Nice views from every side of the house. 2 shared bathrooms for 5 rooms which is very good. Perfect location, next to Skogafoss. Bus stop very close by. Restaurant close by. I HIGHLY recommend this place.
We biked to Skogar from Landmannalaugur. This was our first night not staying in a hut. Bed was comfortable, It was clean, nice bathroom and shower. Easy access from the end of the trail and the waterfall.
The location, and the rooms. The kitchen area is nice and big. The woman who runs Guesthouse was very kind and helpful. She is my number 1 reason I would recommend Guesthouse Skogafoss.
The hotel is in a great location close to the Skogafoss waterfall. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The staff at breakfast were friendly.
The location was amazing - with a view of the falls from our window and able to do a quick we o d visit to the falls before leaving
Restaurant on site was very good.
