This was better than expected. We expected a hostel but it has ensuite rooms and even provides toothpaste and toothbrushes. The place is a bit dated but very clean and has a great rooftop terrace. The proprietor was unable to provide breakfast herself but had made arrangements with a local cafe which opens at 6.00am. Perfect for our early morning start.

It was really nice the hotel let us check-in early. I had a really great conversation with the main staff there on the history of the establishment and how a family runs this business. Although I have to say an electric kettle in the room was a bit old(bottom surface coming off), the room was clean and our needs were covered. Really appreciated how the hotel kept some of the vintage quality while updating the room with modern appliances. The breakfast felt very homey and warm.

It's a lovely place. It's up a pretty rough dirt road, and if you are on a motorbike it might be difficult, but it's beautiful, quiet and clean, and the restaurant is very, very good. In the middle of the week, out of season, we were the only guests and they opened the restaurant and gave us a fantastic meal, completely catering for one of us who is gluten intolerant. I would recommend Badia il Vingone, and I'd like to go back again.
