What a place! It felt really special being able to stay in such a historic house with so much original decor and atmosphere.
When we arrived the host was so helpful in booking us a trip to Capri which we took the next morning from the local harbour of Piano di Sorrento. He also offered us a choice of rooms and ours was lovely with great views and such relaxing decoration.
The garden surrounding the house is special with wisteria and fruit trees.
Breakfast was excellent with a choice of home cooking in a very refined dining room.
Klein Wien offers views of the Gulf of Naples from its high position in Piano di Sorrento. It's just a 30-minute walk from Sorrento city centre.

Please note this review is for the Britannia Hotel (same company) we were transferred to. Firstly, all the staff here were wonderful, and couldn't have been more responsive, helpful and charming, getting our stay in Italy off to a great start. We had a spacious, super clean room with seaview balcony from where we could see Vesuvius. We enjoyed the welcome jacuzzi and lovely terrace and it was nice to be able to have a drink, hot or cold during the day. The breakfast buffet had a good variety of food with again, very lovely staff. The wifi was excellent. Also great was the location with a bus stop right outside with 15min journey into Sorrento centre or station, and a very reasonably priced and lovely restaurant about three doors away. Very highly recommended.
Hotel Royal Hills is set among the hills of Sorrento and facing Bay of Naples, on the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is a 10-minute drive from both Sorrento and Positano. Wi-Fi is free throughout.

If you are earmarked for activities in Sorrento and the Amalfi coast destinations like Positano, Amalfi etc. It is better to stay in Sorrento proper. Piano di Sorrento is a neighboring town and taxis are costly. Best way to go to Sorrento and other places is by train. Meta train station is the nearest one from the hotel and it is a 15 minute walk.
However, it is cheaper to stay here than in Sorrento. So this factor can be an incentive to stay in Piano di Sorrento. The hotel is a boutique hotel. Clean, very good staff and a decent breakfast.

It was a great place to stay for us.
It was a great place to stay for us. Quieter than Sorrento, with really good local restaurants and great access to bus and train.
The wider area was very busy at the time of our stay and I’d avoid early-mid September in future.
But Piano is a great place to stay for visiting other parts of Sorrento peninsula.

The public beach is one of the better ones on the peninsula...
The public beach is one of the better ones on the peninsula and not as croweded as the ones in Meta or in Sorrent, but lacks most facilities (no public showers, like in Spain or Portugal), yet offer impressive views. The Lido(Bagnia Tina) is also good, except for the loud music. Sadly, but typical fo the region, the city is not very walkable, due to the lack of pedestrian paths, except for the main alles connecting the train Station with the beach.
Ideal point if you want a beautiful landscape(Lemon plantations!) and affordable Restaurants(compared to Sorrent ~20 percent less, although there is not that much variety in Piano itself , mostly Pizza places)
Piano is a convenient location for day trips to Capri(Laser Capri offers great prices down in the harbour of Piano), the Amalfi coast and Pompeji&Herculaneum. The Airport is easily reached with the Cuerri Viaggio Transfer Service (extremly cheap but comfortable).
There are two super markets close to the shore and a small "strip mall" close to the train station&Corso Italiano and a pharmacy.

Piano do Sorento Is a small town just outside of Sorrento (...
Piano do Sorento Is a small town just outside of Sorrento (20 mins away by train). Piano di Sorento is accessible by train from Naples. The beach is a short walk from the main town and is accessible by a lift at certain times of the day for a small fee, or walking via a large steep road. There is a selection of restaurants and bars in the town which the local residents frequent and we enjoyed delicious food and wine here too, in particular the restaurant Osteria Palazzo Maresca, where the food and service was outstanding. Not all the people here are friendly and do not appear to like foreigners so be aware of this. Also the roads are busy and drivers of cars and scooters will not stop for you even at designated a crossings. It is helpful to learn some Italian words and phrases as not all the local people will speak basic English if any at all. I would recommend visiting the next town of Sant’Agnello as it is very beautiful and peaceful.

It really is the quieter option of the Amalfi coast and just as lovely as it's more touristy cousins. There is a great market on Mondays selling fruit and vegetables, olives and cheeses and breads to all sorts of clothing, shoes and house hold goods.
There are also a couple of beaches and waterside restaurants. Few were open on the Monday but the one we found in town was just perfect.
St Michael the archangel basilica was also very beautiful and had really interesting doors. The villa that is now a museum was also a nice place to go for an evening stroll overlooking the Marina and sea.

The apartment located 1 minutes walk to Piano train station, from there you can reach any other destination on Amalfi coast, for very little money.
2 walk a big supermarket.
The owner met us with keys at the doors. A kind, pretty Angel. She showed to us the apartment and how use appliances, gave a few advices also.
The apartment its like new!Very nice, modern, clean and well equipped with everything you will need and more. The only negative is the mattress but it’s fixable easily, so it’s not gonna effect on my overall review.
Rachele’s home was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. She provides an excellent service and the location is perfect if you’re planning a trip to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. When you get back from your day trips, the small town of Piano di Sorrento has its own charms as well including restaurants and cafes/gelato places. Every time we got back to our room at Casa Rachele, everything was super clean and it truly felt like a home away from home. Rachele will go out of her way to make sure you’re happy and comfortable.
We loved our stay at The Secret Garden. This beautiful old house is in a wonderful location. It is quiet and so peaceful; the occasional bells from the nearby church are charming. The garden is gorgeous and the scent from the flowers amazing. The rooms are spacious and have ample plugs, make sure you have the correct adaptor. The beach is a 5 minute walk although a steep walk. The staff are wonderful particularly Gennario who couldn;t do more to help us. Above and beyond is an understatement.
Such a wonderful place to stay - great location (close to the waterfront) with restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance, lovely, spacious, well-equipped, accommodation with a great air-con and very secluded, private garden, and cats! The hosts were brilliant, very knowledgeable and welcoming. They even posted some clothing we left in the property back to the UK. 10/10. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the Sorrento region.
Such a nice place to stay. Very clean and comfortable. Friendly staff - Emilia is very kind and helpful. She provided us with a detailed map of the area and marked down transit spots. She was very responsive over Whatsapp and over booking.com.
Conveniently placed next to a store/market with good hours. Close to transit. There is also a restaurant built into the hotel/apartments.
Amazing place to stay in Piano di Sorrento. The room is situated in an adorable villa, the rooms were spotless, with an easy check-in process. The home is in a great location- short walk to the water and nearby many restaurants. Alessandra is incredibly friendly, helpful, and overall wonderful! She is a very generous and caring host! Thanks for the wonderful stay!!
It was bright and clean with good bathroom facilities. The location was very convenient for restaurants and shops in Piano di Sorrento; also, very close to a bus stop for the 6-8 minute ride to Sorrento station. The aircon worked very well as did the TV. Also had a well-working fridge. I would give a higher rating if they fixed the lights in the elevator.
It was extremely clean, the team responded promptly to a few queries we had during our stay, Pasquel greeted us at the property and gave us great travel tips. Location was beautiful at the marina and right beside the lift to the top of the cliff face which is beside the property. Train station close by and also right beside restaurants and boat tours
The owner was exceptional helpful, the apartment extremely clean with an amazing breathtaking view from the taras. Great breakfast, great location /3 minutes from train stations/ 2 stops to Sorrento👍
The quiet beautiful town but still lots to do. Shopping, restaurants, entertainment. I would come back again and stay only in Anna's B&B.
Very attentive and friendly staff. Extremely clean hotel/room. Safe spot with private parking for $10 per day or meter parking in front of hotel. Awesome food market & amazing restaurant across the street. I would definitely rebook. Love Sorrento and hotel is close to the main center and ferry dock to Capri!
Great location, lovely view and sunsets, spacious bedroom/lounge. Helpful host. Great place to explore from and spends days resting by the beach and watching the boats come and go. Lovely restaurants in Piano. Easy transport by train, local bus.
Thank you so much
Tina & Franco are very kind . Always they try to do the best for their guests . The rooms are very cute . The location is very quiet . You can find everything you need around . Super market train station etc . Comfortable to visit all the areas of Amalfi coast .
We had a wonderful long weekend in Piano DI Sorrento. From checking in with a greeting from the friendliest pups and a fresh lemonade to breakfast each morning on the patio, everything was wonderful! the rooms were very clean and comfortable.
We loved our time at Villa Francesca. The property is beautiful and very close to the train station. We spent our days at Blu Cheri beach club, which I’d highly recommend! Far less crowded than beached in city centre Sorrento.
It was very calm place, great breakfast , clean hotel. Staff was nice and helpful.
Rooms are very simple. Our room was overlooking road beneath so cars were rushing all the time but the view on the mountains was gorgeous.
very good hotel, clean, good breakfast, location is best, bus stop is front off it, positano is 20 minutes by bus. near is very good restaurant, markets, you can buy sita bus tikets near hotel.
The hotel is located in calm Piano area, it is very close to the beach. The hotel is quite small, but clean. There is a grocery store and couple restaurants nearby.
Salvatore was an excellent host. Super communicative and friendly. The hotel was clean and was a great location (only 4-5 mins walk from Piano station).
