Giulia was an exceptional host who went out of her way to assist us. The room was sparkling and exceeded expectations. Trani itself is a locals only resort, and was an absolute pleasure in late May. You need a little bit of Italian language to get the best from the local area.

Trani is a fabulous town, a must visit if you are in Puglia.
Trani is a fabulous town, a must visit if you are in Puglia. Trani has loads of different restaurants and fabulous clothes shops. Try to have dinner on the Port of Trani and watch the fisherman bring in their catch and sell it on the side of the port near the Cathedral of Trani. The terrace bar at the Ognassi Hotel is very special and totally worth a visit too.

Trani was not preplanned....we found a B&B last minute, which was fanatastic, we were outside the holiday season so the Town was quiet, the harbour front offered many bars & restaurants, although we found a really good pizza bar on the back street, Art 'e' Arcimboldo Pizza Bistrot. The Cathedral (plus Bell Tower 250+steps) & Castle both worth a visit, both offering alternative views of the Town below & harbour. One night/day probably enough.

Pearl of the Adriatic coast. Full of life (restaurants, bars, parks and seaside walking path). Perfect location for the discovery of northern Puglia (Gargano, Castel del Monte, other nice towns like Barletta, Molfetta).

Diverting to Puglia was a last-minute decision for us, and we were not disappointed. Trani is a small but bustling city with good train access, a few sites of historical interest, and a fabulous harbor to the Adriatic Sea. Because it was not high season, when the tour busses left their day-stops, we felt like two of only a few tourists left in town. Trani is the place to go if you are a seafood lover. At dusk, the fishing boats pull into the harbor, back up to the dock, and offer up their daily catch. Locals browse from boat to boat, loading up on whatever looks best, and restaurant patrons feast on the freshest of fresh fish and shellfish that evening. We had an incredible meal at Osteria ai Platani (highly recommend). Had we planned this stop, we'd have stayed at least one more night for the food, wine, and ambiance alone.

We didn't really explore Trani except to walk to the port for a drink after we had arrived. We had a lot of trouble finding the hotel when we first arrived as the name on our booking was different to the name on the hotel, which caused some confusion and delays in checking in. The port area was pleasant to visit but the hotel was situated near the train station and we had to walk through small, narrow roads to reach the port.

It was the best town and the best accommodation we stayed in during our 3 weeks in Pulia. Claudia, our host could not have been more accommodating and friendly. She met us on arrival, help guide us with parking, suggested restaurants and made sure we had everything we needed. The view from our room was stunning! The bed was comfortable. The shower was phenomenal and the design and attention to detail was superb. Access is great with an elevator or stairs up to the 4th floor. It felt like a 5 star hotel.connieUnited States

She went above and beyond to assist my family with multiple boxes we had (as we were moving to Greece via Italy). She called parking garages for us, arranged a babysitter to get a night out, referred us to public transport, manicure place, restaurants, beaches, etc etc. She even left us snacks and drinks to use, and when my kids broke a vase she would not take the $ for repairing it.

The rooms give a feeling of a 5 star hotel. The location is a few metres from the historic centre. There is good parking area beside the accommodation infront of the Comune of Trani so it is also very safe. The owner is very helpful. The breakfast is served at a cafe nearby. Lovely view of the harbor. Spa was so luxurious. The restaurant was absolutely incredible. food was out of this world! However we were most impressed with the attentive and kind staff. This hotel felt more like you were being welcomed into someone’s home than a hotel. They go out of their way to make sure you have exactly what you need.

We had a suite -- a large salon, a very large bathroom, and a cozy bedroom. The salon opened on the rear garden and was reached via a half flight of steps coming up from the inner courtyard.
