A great place to stay for a family and for people with dogs. The rooms were perfect. Great breakfast with an area for people with dogs. The staff really looked after us and made our dog welcome. I have not been to a hotel that is so doggy friendly like here. A bed was prepared for our dog, as well as a water and food bowl, plus lots of treat snacks. Thank you!

Real fine little city, calm and cozy atmosphere, kind of slow-paced urban lifestyle, and kind of richness in culture. Beautiful architecture with old-time details, an awesome treat for the eyes!
Everything is within a nice walking distance, And the Castle on the sea-shore is simply stunning.

Kalmar is a nice city.
Kalmar is a nice city. The old city walls and the castle give it a good feel. It's easy to take a day trip to Öland from here. I wouldn't recommend this during the fall season as it gets quite cold and windy. I must recommend the restaurant E.A.T.. This restaurant has very heartwarming staff and a great atmosphere.

The guides were very acquainted with the history of the castle and entertaining at the same time specially with the children. We saw the Vasa exhibition, the castle is well preserved and we went 2 times to see it all. Very good experience.

This was my second time in Kalmar and for the second time I went to Ernesto's Italian Restaurant and had a most excellent meal with very good service. Kalmar is a town with lots of history and historic sites, to be contrasted with the modern university. The Slottshotel was very pleasant and located close to the old centre of the town. The weather could have been better but it was December. The old squares, the watch tower and the castle are all delightful. Kalmar is easy to get around though a car is a bit of a nuisance in the old centre. There are many local buses and a train service to a number of main locations including Copenhagen and Kastrup

It was my first visit to Kalmar.
It was my first visit to Kalmar. Stayed there for 4 days to visit my son who just started at Linné University. The atmosphere of the city gave the impression of a calm which I greatly appreciated. Easy to get around almost everywhere by bike and bus. All preserved old buildings, the water tower, the greenery etc made this one of my absolute favorite Swedish cities. The best way to learn more about Kalmar is to walk!
A twenty minute walk from Kalmar Centre, Svanen is well located and offers all the amenities that you need for a short stay. The room I stayed in was clean, internet worked well and there was a large common kitchen which I particularly appreciated. It is not a party hostel, so you won't hear much noise in the evening. They also have a bike-renting service for 100 SEK/day. If you want to see much of the town, you are better off renting a bike.
Good place to stay either overnight (like we did) or a bit longer stay. Located in very quiet part of Kalmar, just a short walk distance from beach and Kalmar castle. Apartments equipped with all basic things you need for longer stay, only thing to be aware that you may have your apartments (I think there are couple of options but we got basement one) in the basement floor, so no big windows or garden view from there :)
Checkin was easy; location was very convenient to the castle. There is parking on the street but limited to three hours; the hotel offers all day parking for a reasonable fee. Breakfast was delicious; coffee machine provided many choices. Evening salad/soup was complimentary in the main building and was delicious in a cozy setting. Coffee/tea was always available in the reception area. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The hotel was really lovely—charming decor, helpful staff, delicious breakfast. The location is fabulous—close to central station, downtown, and the harbor. The hotel restaurant is really, really good—-with a really lively dinner scene. Creative pizzas (our fave was a roasted brisket pizza with tarragon cream) and equally creative salads.
We had a wonderful time at Clarion Collection Hotel Packhuset. The room was clean and large and the bed was very comfortable. We really liked the presence of a rich buffet for breakfast and dinner, as well as coffee with cake every afternoon. We also profited from the gym and the sauna, which are available for guests.
An error by the booking agency resulted in the hotel holding two rooms for me instead of one. The hotel staff reviewed the emails between myself and the booking agent and actually contacted the agent on my behalf to correct and I was not charged for the second room. The breakfast buffet was great.
The hotel’s commitment to sustainability and being Green” was only one thing we appreciated and liked. The place is newly renovated and we’ll done in that respect. The location was fabulous, within walking distance of the Kalmar Slott, old town and the Cathedral. And, it’s on the water.
Nice Villa and new interior - very comfortable. This area is area that I have lived and had a house when I lived in Kalmar during 1994-2012. Cosy and attractive area as well. Feeling like at home - to my hometown :-)
The hotel is situated very close to the Stora Torget. Several pubs and restaurants are available nearby, which is very good.
Free parking lot on the weekends is available three blocks away.
Breakfast was very very good! And the room. Pro tip: take a walk to Svinö nature reserve, there is a good viewpoint near the bridge. And of course the Kalmar castle, it's a SUPER castle!
Very central hotel. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. There was a big selection for breakfast. Staff were very friendly and we could store our bags after check-out.
Great location -- charming former home turned into a warm, inviting hotel. Breakfast was uniformly delicious, with wide variety and a very friendly, capable staff.
Best location in Kalmar. Next to Kalmar Castle and within walking distance to shopping.
Next to art museum and botanical gardens.
Nice walkways along waterside.
The shared kitchen and facilities was great, The room and bathroom was clean as well as spaciuous enough for two persons. There was enough WC around the hotel.
Great location with walking distance to tons of restaurants and easy drive to Kalmar Castle and Öland. Good breakfast. Big snd fluffy towels in the bathroom.
