We loved the huge sized apartment with separate bathrooms/ensuites for everyone in our group of four! The pool area was practical, large enough for its purpose and close to the apartment. Great parking at the door of the apartment. Good value for money compared to the nearby resorts. Awesome to have our own laundry in the apartment and free of any extra charges!

Fairmont Orchid, hotel in Waikoloa

Situated amongst 32 oceanfront acres on the Kohala Coast, the Fairmont Orchid is a spectacular resort offering luxurious accommodation and extensive resort facilities to the discerning traveler.

Beach: The beach was great. Plenty of seating, very easy to rent equipment to go do several things. The 1 hour free snorkeling includes each day was a great hit for us. Swam with several turtles. The reef isn't necessarily the most colorfull and lively we've ever seen, but definitely still very beautiful to look at. We're a bit adventurous, so we wanted to rent paddle bords, kayaks and surf boards to go out off the cove with, but that wasn't allowed without a guide. They could be utilised inside the cove. Room: The room was very nice. Bathroom was great and there was a lot of closet space. The TV was an older model, so it wasn't possible to stream anything or cast to it, which didn't bother us, but definitely is notable if that is a requirement. Food: We mainly ate at the breakfast buffet, which was quite varied. Enjoyed the fact that you could get freshly made omelets by a chef every morning. Ate dinner at Browns looking at the sunset. The food was great and can definitely recommend that. The purple Ube bread, that they served was a highligt and the service was super good

Hilton Waikoloa Village, hotel in Waikoloa

The Hilton Waikoloa Village is located on 62 oceanfront acres in the Waikoloa Beach Resort.

Incredible location. Property was well manicured but buildings feel older and need upkeep. Beautiful grounds and loved the ocean crashing beyond the property. Food was good but we didn’t eat much at resort due to pricing.

Facing the seafront in Waikoloa, Ocean Tower by Hilton Grand Vacations has a garden and a terrace. The property is situated 1.9 km from Genesis Gallery. Guests can have a cocktail at the bar.

The breakfast was okay. Some of the options were a bit dried out and I don’t think the scrambled eggs were real.

It is very windy and 3 days of our stay the resort area was uninhabitable. We either needed to stay inside-not why we came to Hawaii or go to Kona. There are no real beaches in the area we spent alot of time driving back and forth to Kona.

3 Bedroom condo was very nice.

3 Bedroom condo was very nice. Comfortable beds and kitchen fully stocked. location great. Nice lunch (and breakfast) spot nearby at Johny's restaurant at Golf Pro Shop. Wish we could have golfed. Excellent pool and workout area per my friends. Tennis courts strange matt surface. Hard to see #s on other condos at night to find location of our friends who were also staying there. But overall, a great facility and will be back!

Waikoloa is a great affordable luxury resort development.

Waikoloa is a great affordable luxury resort development. It is the kind of place where you can take walks and enjoy the beautiful landscaping or for dining and shopping. Many excellent tour companies (Kailani Tours) do pick-ups here and Waikoloa is well situated for exploring all parts of the island.

The hotel is beautiful and the grounds are lovely.

The hotel is beautiful and the grounds are lovely. However, the food was mediocre at best, very overpriced and not fresh. The staff were not overly helpful or friendly. I would be hesitant to recommend this resort to friends and family.

We were a family of 5 and this was great!

We were a family of 5 and this was great! It gave us plenty of space and we were able to relax in the room and grill and cook a few meals in. There is shopping, restaurants, a movie theater, and a BIG ABC store that has everything you could want - groceries, take out, souvenirs, etc all right across the street within walking distance. Its only about 20 min from the airport but has lots of open space and a very quiet feel to everything. Its a very short drive to several beaches and only about an hour or so to anything else on the Island. We were on 3rd floor and elevator is small and very slow but is helpful with luggage. The garage had lots of beach gear available for use. Small but nice swimming pool just a few buildings down with beautiful landscaping around it and a shaded patio if you are hanging out and watching kids swim.

The Mauna Lani Beach Club is a wonderful beach and it was a huge plus to have access to the cabanas and furniture based on the fact the unit had a membership there. We enjoyed the fact that the unit was close to restaurants (Tommy Bahama) and groceries (Foodland). Morning walks around Mauna Lani are wonderful and easy access over to the beach is convenient. It's also simple to travel over to Waikoloa for even more shopping and restaurants. The Lava Lava Beach club has great food and is right on the water where we got to see a Monk Seal swim in the bay. Also, I would recommend exploring the full Big Island. There are wonderful national parks and you can see so much and so many different climates and landscapes. It is truly unique compared to the other islands. We were able to see whales each day when we drove north up Kohala. All in all a wonderful trip for our 10th visit to the islands.

The unit was very clean and had all the extras that we could possibly need such as towels, washer and dryer, kitchen gadgets, beach supplies, board games, BBQ, plus more. The property grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The property was gated and felt safe. Plenty of space in the unit for our family of 2 adults and 2 children. So much more to explore nearby the unit that we didn't get a chance to. There is an ocean view trail with access right on the property.

The hotel pool on the Makai side was amazing! My kids had a wonderful time swimming everyday. The dolphin quest was the highlight of the trip. The upgraded view was spectacular and worth the added cost. The hotel was responsive to our questions, they gave an inconvenience fee for lack of services even though it was advertised as available. Great customer service.

The villa was beautifully furnished, spacious, comfortable, and equipped with many supplies for our stay. It had a lot of things (beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, etc.) we needed for the beach. It’s location in Waikoloa made it very easy to get to places we went.

What I liked best was the extras that we couldn't provide. Such as the extra beach towels, pool toys, fans, and starter supplies. I thought it was super thoughtful. Also that it was easy to get in and out of the complex.
