Platis Yialos is a very nice beach.
Platis Yialos is a very nice beach. There is a charge for the use of the sunbeds which is quite expensive. There is a good beach bar called Yialo Yialo. They serve good food and the staff are very nice in there. Do not go to the DK Oyster bar, this is the bar with the black umbrella's outside on the beach. They have a terrible reputation for ripping people off, sometimes for 100's of Euros. This happened to me a number of years ago and happened to another resident in our hotel this year. She was charged 500 Euros for not very many drinks and something to eat!

The beach is well organised, with many restaurant options. There’s a 5 stars hotel, with a beach bar called Branco, which was really good. I’d say that 85% of the beach is covered by the sun beds for rental. The remaining part is public, so people can lay down on the sand on their own towels. The water is beautiful, clean, and transparent. However, a bit cold in October.

The location is perfect - it'll take you 2 minutes walking to Platis Gialos (where you can also get the cheap water taxi to most beaches) and 5 minutes to Psarou, which are 2 of the best beaches in Mykonos. There is also a bus stop near by hotel which takes you to Mykonos town(about 15-20 mins bus ride). There is also a convenient store near by and some great restaurants.

I loved the view of Psarou beach from the balcony. All of the staff I encountered were very friendly and attentive. The concierge is on hand to help you plan your days. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. The pool area and the gym were both very nice. The location of the hotel is excellent - you can easily get to the southern beaches by bus or taxi. Being able to walk 2 min to Psarou beach was amazing.
