The Merlin, an elegant 19th-century inn, is located just 500 metres from the independent shops and restaurants in affluent Alderley Edge’s village centre. A pub restaurant with a stylish chandelier made of wine glasses free private parking are available on site.

This is such a wonderful place to stay with a delightful and very helpful and accommodating staff. Conveniently located between villages and not too far from the airport, yet you feel plenty removed from anywhere. The bar and restaurant are not only very comfortable, but some of the food I had during my 2-week UK visit.

Fantastic area close to many walks; we even chose one that Mel recommended in her welcome pack. Lovely hot tub that can be used whenever you like it. Everything you could need in the kitchen. Little details like milk, cookies and sanitary products. Very quick replies from Mel. Beautifully decorated… it ticked all of our boxes.

Beautiful building full of character, the staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome, clean spacious room, comfortable bed, tasty breakfast and all in all a lovely atmosphere. We live in The Netherlands and were traveling with 2 children (aged 1 and 4). The staff really looked after us and made sure we had everything we needed. A baby cot and comfy camp bed were provided for the kids, there were plenty of high chairs and the staff were thoughtful enough to even put some extra bottled water in the room for us.

The Glof manager Andy was extremely helpful and welcoming. We arrived quite late with a big family (several children). He helped to make sure the children could get some food, which we truly appreciate.

This hotel has good facilities, comfy beds and friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again. There's lots of parking available so didn't need to worry about being able to park up after being out for the day. The swimming pool is family friendly but we found going first thing in the morning a lot quieter and a nice way to start the day off.

Excellent WiFi in the bedroom and the restaurant for the children to utilise. The contemporary styling throughout mixed with the old is really unique and even in winter the outdoor areas were stunning. The service we received from reception to the restaurant was so welcoming and the food really made our stay that much more memorable. we’ll be back whenever visiting family.

The space was lovely and well kept. I wouldn't call it could friendly but it was definitely child accommodating. Lovely views, well laid out rooms and a working useable kitchen. Would definitely stay again, but probably without the kids.

They allowed us in the room early to set up our baby crib. The receptionist when we telephoned to ask had a warm and friendly, helpful and professional approach - made us feel welcome.

good sized family room with pull out sofa bed in living room for children. this was excellent. lovely spa facilities but you can only use them until check out unless you pay extra. Also children under 4 not allowed in the pool at all and children aged over 4 can only use pool before 10 and after 5 so not ideal stay for families
