How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The windows allow the noise from the streets, but I guess this is the disadvantage of having the room with a view to the main street.
Central, right across the entrance in the port and the bizantine tower. Clean. Worm welcome and supportive host

I would have liked to have more time to stay more. Although Mount Athos was my objective, Ouranoupolis is worth a visit and staying there might have been a nice experience.
Very convenient central location for going into Mount Athos. A couple of minutes walk to the Thessaloniki bus stop, to the boats for the Monasteries, to the boat ticket office and the pilgrims' office (to obtain the entrance document). At the same time centrally located in the town of Ouranoupolis itself for shopping, walking around, parking a car and getting information.

Centrally located, therefore not surprisingly in the mornings and evenings a bit traffic. Very nice room, water cooker, fridge, nice balcony. Absolutely nice to stay!

Room was by the main road, which isn't the ideal location if one prefers to sleep with the fan on instead of the air condition.
Hosts were lovely and very relaxed about the checkout time. Although Ouranoupoli is so small that one could say that all places are well located, the added advantage of Athos is that it's right opposite the bus stop, and really close to tavernas and the small village beach. The room was a standard Greek "rooms to let" kind of place: comfy, clean, with a small veranda and a small fridge. We'd definitely consider staying there again. Thanks!

Everything went good, nothing bad happen, at least for us and during our stay.
It was a great location with great owners. They helped us when we needed it. We will definitely return to this location, it is in the center of the town close to : beach, shops, restaurants, taverns, etc.

Athos Guest House Pansion has a very good location and service from the hosts. Trey are excellent owners, very kind, nice and available at any moment.

A bit noisy from the street but it's not much one could do about it in a resort town
The hosts: were kind, welcoming and patient with our indecision to stay another day in case we miss our boat to Athos, accepting us to leave a bit later than check-out. The location.

It gets very hot under the roof, but with 40degrees outside it is normal. AC is there.

Elderly house but provides all necessary needs, but don't expect high-tech modern rooms. No parking included but there is a parking available for EUR4 p/day.
Top location right next to the port and centre of the village. The owners are very friendly and forthcoming, providing good advises for trips, beaches, activities and restaurants.

We were on our way to Mount Athos. Two men, we had double room with single beds. The Guest house is located near the main square. Location is best, as it was close to ship ticket & entry pass for Mount Athos. Very clean. Ms.Maria was very kind and offer us also bottles of water. It is traditional, authentic place. I visit Mount Athos every year. I most definitely will stay there. Thank you Ms.Maria for your wonderful hospitality.

Very good location. Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. Balcony view amazing. (Prosforios (Ouranopoli tower) in front). Price was cheap for that kind of place and a busy season. Parking is near and costs 4 euros per day. Owners were very kind and helpful. I am definitly going back there but this time I will ask for the apartment on the top (recommendation from the lady owner) Keep going like that you are amazing ! 💗

Room was a bit noisy but that comes with the location.
Location is 11 out of the 10 especially if you will be taking the boats to Drenia. Room was clean and functional (great bed) and the hosts were kind and helpful. And the view from the room was stunning!
