definitely felt like the hotel was still not finished out the back with no umbrellas by the pool, water was a bit unclean. would have liked more activities within the hotel like yoga etc

Great breakfast buffet, staff friendly, rooms spacious and clean and great big bed. Gym was great and spacious all new and kept clean. Love the free water in the rooms too! Once the hotel has more guests will be great and good atmosphere and the restaurant with the beach club down the back will be great for entertainment and parties.

The restaurant had limited vegetarian options, but if you asked the staff they could always come up with something, so that's great! Part of the hotel is still being built, so some construction noise could be heard, although very little. A bit more shade spots around the pool would be great.

The staff was amazing, they made sure we had the best stay possible! The free shuttle service from the ferry terminal went quick and smooth. Even though the hotel is still being built it looked perfectly clean and the swimming pool is simply amazing with all the plants and trees around it. The staff also has plenty of options for tourist attractions (we really recommend going snorkeling and the fireflies tour) and is willing to help you with every request you have! Breakfast was also amazing, with an insane amount of warm and cold dishes!

Construction works ongoing underneath our room with annoying noise and vibration. The keys constantly disconnecting so had to recode them a couple of times. The room wasn’t well cleaned and maintained. It looked like a lot of staff were standing around and not being deployed effectively, e.g. swimming pool towels often not there.

Drinks overpriced overall and cocktails were particularly poorly made. There is a minimart a 2 minute walk away and much more cost effective to just go there No shade by the pool - feedback directly that umbrellas were desperately needed Clearer vegetarian options on the menu and more of them!

The service left a lot to be desired. It happened frequently that we were waiting at the table for the waiter to take the order, but no one was coming. In 2 days it happened three time that one waiter forgot what we ordered. Overall we had to wait lot of time for food even if there were not many people at the restaurant.

The breakfast buffet lacked healthy food options. Not enough choices of fruits or crudites and no other light/healthy options like yogurt, muesli or some kind of light bread spread. There wasn't enough shade around the pool (no parasol/umbrella available and no areas otherwise protected from the sun) which meant that we couldn't enjoy the pools and surrounding areas from late morning to late afternoon as the sun is quite strong.

We had a fabulous stay. Location was perfect, the staff was friendly and very attentive to our needs. Overall the hotel was perfect for a quick restful getaway.

We did not use the pool despite wanting to, due to the cloudiness of water, and despite the short operating hours of the pool, the staff used that time to clean the pool. Please try to control guests using the pool while donning full clothing, there are religion friendly swimwear that still requires guests to shower prior to entering the pool and after a swim. If control is not placed, staff needs to clean the pool more regularly during the pool closure hours.

Staff at this hotel were great right from check in to Check out, the service was great. This is a new hotel which is still being phased into full operations, which means rooms are fresh, clean and comfortable. So are the facilities such as the gym where the equipment are new and feels great. Breakfast spread was excellent with a mix of local, regional and international cuisine and we looked forward to it on the 2nd day of stay. Surrounding area is lush green there is even a nice jogging track close to the hotel and surrounding a lake. The beach was clean, overall Lagoi Bay area is a serene part of Bintan and only 10 mins by car from the nearest ferry terminal to Singapore.

The hotel provided a pick up and drop off service to the ferry terminal. Arriving at the hotel, we had a welcome dance from the staff and healthy welcome drink (Ginger sweet Tea). Special shout out to Dika and Siska from Rempah Kitchen. They were very attentive and courteous to all our needs during our stay. Stunning beach with a great view of the sunset. It was very calming and relaxing. Good for family stay and definitely recommend for those who just want to be away from the city and relax. We stayed at the Cabana room and we had a great view of the beach. I would like to thank Guest Relation officers Jessica and Dian for the complimentary birthday slice cake. Both ladies were very polite and friendly and gave my 2 kids a handmade bracelet as a remembrance. From the front desk, housekeeping and F&B, the team were very friendly and committed to provide a seamless and memorable experience. We will definitely come back again.

The swimming pool was really murky.Should have treated it with more chlorine powder daily to clear up the water? Pool appears to have rough edges, like cement gaps between tiles. Trust that all will duly be sorted when hotel officially opens! Not complaining entirely as we probably paid a partial price due to hotel's partial opening. You dont feel it except for state of the pool, hahaha.

Lovely 5 star ocean view from room. Beach just at doorstep. Saw tiny crabs scurrying. Contrary to the earlier negative staff reviews i saw, appears that staff have gotten used to the running of hotel after a few weeks, mamagement has upped the training protocol. Congrats! Especially impressive are staff at pick up, taxi transfer, check in and restaurant - proactive & service oriented. You can feel the positive energy of a new, fresh job, even from the dancers who welcome you. Breakfast and dinner buffet was pretty good for the price offered. Dinner felt more value for money. But either way, both still good. Hotel is still partially open. Rooms in another wing was still being renovated. No noise on a Saturday when we were here. We went off to Trikora to snorkel at kelong as soon as we arrived as we were early, and check in staff really made a point to reach out to us inform that our room was ready. P.S. Shout out to Syarif(hope i hot his name right, joined 2 weeks ago from.Jarkata) at the restaurant for his proactivism, getting us items that are gone, and getting us up to standard cappuccino! And his fluency in English & communication is remarkable for an Indonesian staff. Notice him interacting well with hotel guests as well.. so thankful he was able to serve us and plug in the gaps for whatever was missing!

Pretty disappointed that we booked Cabana King Suite with Ocean view but turned out the view was blocked by trees and cabana room is actually the same as deluxe room with only bigger terrace area. We asked to change room to Deluxe Oceanview as the view was much better in which the receptionist (Dian) was kind enough to accomodate though we could not get downgraded price since we booked via Booking.com. Water heater was unstable (suddenly turned hot). The hotel was still partially under construction.

The view is stunning. Love the beach access! Breakfast was awesome as it was quite a spread. Love the big pool the most, especially it's rather empty since there are not too many guests yet (the hotel was partially open).

It was opening week with teething issues: Food would be the area that needs to improve the most - limited choice, dishes not available, healthy options limited. We ended up eating out twice over 4 days Staff - very attentive and friendly but their understanding of what was being asked was limited with the exception of a few more experienced team members so you end up asking for the same thing twice. Which can become frustrating for basic things such as transportation or food requests. Pool and gym - great space but pool needs more sun shade and gym needs to be stocked better - weights, kettle bells, stretch bands etc

no proper handover of service, was contacted by different staff for transportation choice before arrival. our lunggage was not loaded to shuttle bus when going back to terminal for return ferry, lucky it was close to the hotel and we manage to catch the ferry on time. expensive and shuttle bus was not free. new facility and still has a bit of faulty aircon and short circuit of light during midnight during our stay.

I booked two rooms via booking.com. One advertised as Cabana Pool King Suite with Terrace and pool view and one king room with balcony and garden view. I specifically booked a suite room so that we can have a spacious room where my toddler can walk around. I am very disappointed to find out that both the rooms are the same. I pointed that out to the receptionists and their senior and they have no solution for my issue except saying sorry. They repeatedly tried to convince me that the outdoor terrace is big and that's is the reason for the room to be called a suite. It is appalling for the hotel staffs at Marriot chain do not know the difference between a suite and a hotel room. Please refer to the photos attached to see if I am being unreasonable to feel being cheated by this misleading and false advertising. I accept it is a reasonable room as a hotel room but advertising this as a suite is beyond acceptable. If I know the area well and I do not have a toddler in tow with me, I would have walked out to another hotel after seeing the room. But we were exhausted after a ferry ride with a toddler. I anticipated a room where I can relax and can also see my toddler running around the room to burn her energy. Yes the hotel is spacious and there is a kids club but an 18 month old needs close supervision which I do not have the energy to do in an outdoor area after a tiring day. That's why I needed a suite and parents with any toddler will understand where I am coming from. It is an understatement that I am disappointed and my mood for a family holiday is ruined by this false advertising. If I would have known there is not acutal suite options in this hotel, I would not have chosen this hotel from the first place. Then the thermostat in our room didn't work. We couldn't set the temperature on a rainy day and the room was freezing. But the staffs had no idea how the thermostat works.

The facilities are quite dated. Ceiling was leaking (and has signs of multiple previous leaks) in the main restaurant. Good variety at breakfast but nothing really exciting, ‘European’ pastries (croissants, danishes, etc.) aren’t good at all.

The room we got was very problematic. Aircon was working on and off, water heater was not working. They came once in the afternoon and fixed both the issues up. In the middle of the night, the aircon acted up again, had to call them at 3am! Technician was prompt but it spoiled our rest. Took time to fix up, it only started cooling after 5am. Thankfully, the children’s room next door was fine. Highlighted this at checkout, the staff were apologetic but nothing they could do. Just told them to ensure the room is fixed before allowing the next guests to stay.
