Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

I loved that the property was family owned and it was a nice change from the hotels and resorts where I stayed until I came to Ubud.

EVERYTHING! We really loved our stay at Gefecon and the staff has made it so special for us. We have stayed in a lot of hotels all over Bali and we felt this is our favourite. Nothing is too much trouble, breakfast is so tasty and can be served at the time you requested (we had a few mornings that we had to leave early for an activity/boat and we would of missed breakfast, but this can be arranged and served at time that suits you). Not to mention the unlimited complementaries of snacks, water & soft drinks offered in the room daily. The location is great, not too far from the heart of Ubud & other attractions. The room is also spotless with great amenities. Thank you for amazing stay, we will definitely be back💚

United KingdomI was looking for a hotel which struck the balance between central but not hectic. A place where I could relax in the morning and needed to work in the afternoon and evening. I found this at Gefecon. A beautifully sized and light room with a veranda and wonderful views over the paddy fields and pool. A desk and good Wi-Fi to work and a clean, spacious bathroom. The staff were all wonderful and so warm and helpful. I enjoyed being able to walk to yoga or central Ubud without biking anywhere. It’s in the same vicinity as Eat Pray Loves Ketut Liyer’s family compound. I looked forward to my Breakfast of fresh fruit, coffee and omelet and it was brought to my veranda each morning with a smile to start the day. I stayed six days and felt very relaxed and settled whilst also being able to work. Thanks to everyone at Gefecon for a wonderful stay and your warm hospitality.

IranI wouldn’t recommend the standard rooms if you care to have a view and care for the brightness of the room. They are very spacious and clean but I find them a bit dark and depressing for my taste.
The best aspect of the place is the amazing staff that work there. They try their best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I found the deluxe room to be very spacious, bright, clean, and with amazing view. My stay overall was very enjoyable and I would come again.

United KingdomNothing it was my favourite place I've stayed in Bali
The staff were amazing from the beginning. The got me discounts on all the tours and helped with the booking process. They cleaned the room everyday and gave me juice and snacks free of charge. Every morning they would deliver my breakfast to the balcony and my preferred time and the breakfast was delicious. Suarma and Ardana were amazing!! I unfortunately got sick a day and they brought me medicine and water to the room and checked I was ok, it had a very personal touch. The rooms are very spacious with a comfortable bed. I had a late flight and was allowed to stay until 4pm free of charge, and sorted me a driver to the airport. Could not recommend this place enough, I will definitely be back.

SingaporeThere were some small bugs around and lots of ants. Although the distance to the ubud city centre is short, it took a long time via cab because of the traffic.
Very spacious with a sitting area outside the room as well. Big bathroom, cozy bed.

United KingdomIt was in an area that looked peaceful but was surprisingly noisy, especially in the mornings. Most days we were woken up by 6am due to what I think was religious calls/music coming from the temple, or by agricultural machinery. All the windows are single-glazed so quite a lot of sound gets through.
The villa was great - a generous size with a big sized bedroom, a dressing room area, a bathroom with bath and shower and outdoors we had a seating area and balcony. Everything was very nicely decorated, in good condition and very clean. Breakfast was very nice with real effort put into the presentation. The best thing about the place is the staff though who were so friendly, smiley and helpful. The cleaning staff went above and beyond too - nicely tidying up things we'd left a mess.

HungaryEverything was perfect
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Villa Gefecon in Ubud for a week, and I must say that I was extremely impressed with the experience. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by the super kind and polite staff who made every effort to ensure my stay was enjoyable. The room was super clean and well-furnished, offering a comfortable and cozy environment. Additionally, the common areas were absolutely immaculate, with attention to the smallest details to ensure that guests had everything they needed for a comfortable and relaxed stay. The breakfast spread was excellent with an array of options to choose from, all cooked to perfection. This level of care and service only added to the already fantastic experience at Villa Gefecon. Overall, I must say that Villa Gefecon exceeded my expectations, with its exceptional service, super clean and comfortable rooms, and delicious breakfast. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Ubud and looking for a peaceful and serene place to stay. I will undoubtedly be back soon!

IndonesiaThe room was on the ground floor that I didn't expect at all. I wasn't able to open curtains as opposite was just a concrete wall (not even just outdoors). The light inside was poor. And no sunlight as well from concrete wall. Fortunately I booked just a night Before book ask staff which room they will provide for u. I guess other rooms don't have this issue
Good location, facilities are in a good condition. Clean
