The chef is passionate about quality Japanese cuisine. I recommend enjoying a meal there even if you don't stay in the hotel, which is quirky but clean and comfortable. You can also get a very hearty breakfast to start the day with. Wonderful hospitality.

Located in the historical Shibu Onsen district, 渋温泉小石屋旅館 offers both private and dormitory-style guest rooms as well as an on-site restaurant where local dishes, wines and craft beers are available. The staff were so nice. The free shuttle to the snow monkeys. Good coffee.

A beautiful luxury hotel set in forest outside Tsumago, with hotel shuttle bus access. Everything was perfect- from the warm welcome, being conducted to our room, shown the onsen and dining room, where breakfast and dinner were exceptional (in Keisei style and well worth the additional charge). It was a most relaxing stay after our Magome to Tsumago walk- 6 hours in drenching rain- but still very beautiful to be again on this marvellous walk.

A 7-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station, Yorozuya features hot spring baths, a hot tub and Japanese-style rooms with a private terrace and private bathroom. Everything was great, the service was very delicate, it made us feel very comfortable. This was a fabulous experience.

Oshi Ryokan ligger bara 5 minuters promenad från den historiska helgedomen Togakushi. Här erbjuds traditionellt boende i det fridfulla bergsområdet, som används för pilgrimer. The warm hospitality conveyed by Oshi san and wife, delicious and priceless home cooked meals and the serenity of the surroundings. its basically a quaint village up the mountainside. Even the soba shops in the area serve food from the heart - the quality and quantity of ingredients served is way different from the towns!

Yudanaka Onsen Yamazakiya ligger bara 10 minuters bilresa från Snow Monkey Park och erbjuder enkelt boende i japansk stil med gratis Wi-Fi. We really enjoyed experience: Very friendly and helpful host, speaking English the excellent food at breakfast and dinner, variety of vegetable/fish and very nice presentation, excellent in quality and quantity, a joy for the eyes and the body. Nice interior of the room and hotel, quiet at night Onsen inside the hotel, by booking your time. This was fantastic as we could enjoy the experience as a private onsen, highly appreciated. A 3-minute walk from Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort, Kadowakikan features ski-to-door access, a hot spring bath and free WiFi. Mr. Kadowakikan was super friendly and helpful. He picked us up and dropped us off at the shuttle bus stop. He helped us order rental ski/snowboard equipment to the hotel. The hotel's own onsen was very clean and more comfortable than the town's free onsens.

Tawaraya ligger 5 minuters promenad från tågstationen Yudanaka och erbjuder japanskt boende med gratis WiFi och platt-TV. The staff was outstanding. They were kind, helpful, and in every way what one can hope for at a Ryokan.
